I went to the French House restaurant for the third time. It makes me feel comfortable to have my lunch and brunch here. Besides that, the place is so cosy, both inside and out. The price that I paid there is always worth it because the food is always tasty. The toilets are clean. I would definitely give you a menu recommendation if you would like to come here. Try to order the sandwiches; the portions are good, the taste is delicious, and you'll also get the accompanying salad. This menu is my favourite so far. I don't really recommend ordering the hamburger because the taste is just average but still good. I'm amazed by one of the waiters that works there, if I'm not mistaken, her name is Feby. She's very nice, and she always makes sure that everything goes well for the food and drinks. For example, she asks me if I would like a loaf of bread or not because nobody else is offering it. I know that we have to ask, but she really took the initiative👌🏻 Oh yes, one thing that is really important is that they mostly speak English very well! So you have no worries about the language barrier. I would definitely come here again next time!

French House is a beautiful place with delicious food to hang out with your favourite people. My favourite dishes so far are Tuna Tataki and Saucisse de Toulouse. Unfortunately, the last time I was there, the portion of Tuna Tataki I ordered isn't the same as the previous one I had before that. It was smaller, and the taste wasn't quite the same. The strength of black pepper was less than before. On the same day, the service was slower and took us 30 minutes until someone took our orders. Would be great if the crew can anticipate the flow of the service during the weekend when there are more customers in the restaurant. But over all, totally recommended and definitely will return as French House is becoming one of many favourite restaurants in Bordeaux. Ps. Their sister restaurants, Merci Marcel in Singapore, are one of the best places in town. My favourite is Merci Marcel Orchard. The place is too gorgeous to be missed.

During my short stay here, I’ve been here twice. The first time, I found the hostess quite rude, being short with me and my baby, and often seen rolling her eyes. The food was mediocre, bread was very hard to eat. On my second occasion, they couldn’t make fries for my baby so I requested if we can get baby potatoes instead. We got maybe three baby potatoes cut in half and they said they would have to charge €5 extra so ham and potatoes were €18. Turns out baby potatoes were cold and undercooked and obviously baby didn’t eat them. I found it quite shocking that a restaurant was unable to cater to a baby’s needs and instead told us they would have to charge extra. This would never happen in a country like Canada where we accommodate babies and not charge €18 for their food. Not just Canada, an Italian place nearby asked us what the baby would like to eat and made it without questions asked and charged only €10. That item wasn’t even in the menu. But since the potatoes were not cooked properly, they eventually didn’t charge the extra €5 but we still paid €13 for a meal that was partly not edible. Moreover, I remember first time we were here, there was an option of ice cream but this time, the host didn’t even offer one. My drinks arrived with my dinner, whereas all the other guests had their drinks beforehand. The only good thing about this place is the amazing servers. The food is mediocre (except for my fish) , flies everywhere so I really question their cleanliness, and unaccommodating and rude hosts. I’m really shocked that this place has such good reviews because the service my baby and I were given is not even worth giving one star.

Wonderful impromptu meal at the French House before attending the Ballet. Seating options outside or inside were great. Plenty of choice on the food and drinks menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, trout tartare, duck breast and a ravioli dish were cooked to perfection. We started with cocktails - the vodka mule (if you love ginger this is fab) and the yuzu shu cocktail (a bit like pina colada with a twist and no coconut taste). The service was friendly and polite. Ended with coffee which was served with a cheeky little chocolate which is always nice. We didn’t have time for dessert as we need to leave for the show but we would come back here.

My wife and I dined here the other evening, and were very impressed with the food, service and ambience. The interior gives off a Bohemian vibe, casual and comfortable. We chose to sit inside at the front in some comfy lounge chairs. I had the Persillé de boeuf, which was cooked perfectly, and my wife had the Ravioles de Royans, which was exceptional, with tiny, tasty raviolis which were extra cheesy and a good size portion so we took some home. The house wines by the glass were also very nice, and paying was super convenient with a QR code at the table to settle the bill. Great find in Bordeaux, definitely recommend!

I have never left a poor review of a restaurant in my life, but I must write one about this place. We arrived at 10:00 and never received our food. I only received my tea and some water. When forty minutes had passed, I went inside to inquire about the order and the waitress seemed unbothered by the time. After one hour, we still had not received any food or apology and decided to leave. We left money for the tea on the table. I was upset because we wasted an hour of our precious time at this cafe that we will never get back. It looked like a delightful place, but in fact, was not.
