La Table Deruelle — Restaurant in Bordeaux

Excellent lunch experience. If you’re a cheese lover, this place is for you. There is indoor seating but we enjoyed the terrace outside (sunshine until about 15:00h in late March).

Service was great. The girl who helped us explained the menu (which is also available in English) and was patient with our limited French. It was very busy but she managed to be attentive, correct and kind.

We shared a starter, both had the baked Camembert and then shared a dessert (and a bottle of wine). We were very full after this; fuel for hours of strolling through Bordeaux! The food was good; good quality cheeses, nothing too complicated but refined in taste.

The toilet was also very clean for such a busy establishment.

After a busy day cleaning and painting our new flat in the centre of Bordeaux, we decided to call it a day and went out to get a beer and having a bite. Ended up at La Table Deruelle because there were vegetarian options and the place looked very nice. Very friendly and hospitable service, lovely beers and the food: a feast for the taste buds and for the eyes! Next time we'll have a wine because there were many nice wines mentioned on the menu.

Only the next morning, when we googled the restaurant, we found out that the restaurant is run by two brothers and that the main products come from their mum's nearby cheese shop 'La Fromagerie Deruelle'.

We're looking forward to our next visit and great having the restaurant around the corner! Thanks a lot...

Wow! What a fantastic restaurant, especially for cheese lovers! Following the mother’s cheese-making business, her two sons continued the theme by opening this beautiful restaurant in Saint Michelle. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We enjoyed the lunchtime sun outside. The food was exquisite - a relative small menu of starters and mains but each one full of wonderful tastes and beautifully presented. A very reasonably priced bottle of Bordeaux red made the perfect accompaniment. Of the hundreds of fantastic restaurants in Bordeaux, this was a really great find and hard to beat for food quality, Al fresco atmosphere, service and thorough enjoyment....
