We had a terrible experience with this bakery. We walked in there late around 6pm & were impressed to see locals. However when we bought a loaf of wholemeal bread, he quoted us €10, it wasn’t a special bread or a pastry just plain simple loaf. Even the elderly gentleman behind us (a local) jumped out. We were just too jet lagged and exhausted to challenge the price or walk away…… the sad part was when we got back to our accommodation, we realised not only had we paid too much, we had paid too much for a stale bread. Whilst we have learnt a lesson rom this experience and will be wiser on the future, we do feel that such behaviour doesn’t reflect well on the bakery or the city and its people. Couple of days later when we were in the area we visited the bakery and spoke to another baker and he shrugged his shoulder saying that we bought it! The other baker was there and told us that too bad we didn’t speak French. As I mentioned it left a bad after taste for what has been overall a good holiday...

When you enter the shop, you are greeted by the variety of pastries available. Queue up along the cashier and let the friendly server know what you’d like. If you’re eating in the bakery, head to the few small tables available and the cashier/server will bring the pastry to you.
I bought two canele to go ! The caneles are MUST have!! So gooooood. Great sticky outside crust, reminding me of the creme brûlée crust, and rich rum and vanilla flavor. The cake inside is soft enough and was not too sweet. Definitely want to get more of those.
On the other hand, I wasn’t too impressed by the croissant. It had great flavor but the pastry was not as flaky and crispy as I’d want. All these pastries for 4.50euros; a pretty good deal!
Many locals get a pastry and coffee to have in house. Try it and enjoy people watching in the cute bakery! Remember to pay as you’re...

I went to this place after my visit to Beaux-arts museum. The bakery gave out such a cute vibe. I tried the most praised brioche rouge and it indeed was delicious. But I have to say the other brioche chocolat was heaven. It’s packed with Chocolate chips literally. But it’s not too sweet, for which you don’t grew sick of it. Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of it before finishing. It’s definitely topped the bread list of my preference. Also, the traditional baguette is good as well. But generally, you can’t really go wrong with this basic item from boulangerie in France. So, I personally would say that if I got to pick one to recommend, it’d be the brioche chocolat. Also, this place is slightly pricier than other boulangeries. But it’s located in the city center and open even on Sunday, which is reasonable. And the price difference is not huge. Will...
