suzzi — Restaurant in Bordeaux

First impression on the interior of the restaurant- neat and warm. Photos and the menu looks promising. Service was very warm as well. All ticked the boxes of a good restaurant for us. The lady server told us that all their food serve were all made by their Sweden Chef. Another plus for us!

We decided to order 1 salmon tartine and 1 crevette tartine. The salmon tasted a little off and the cream on both the tartine, there wasn't anything special really. For 18€ you get- 1 cup of ginger lemon drink, 2 pcs of toasted pain de mie kind of bread with 20gms of salmon, 7 pcs of very tiny crevettes, abit of salad and a slab of the cream on both bread. I know it is the pandemic and we don't feel good posting this, however we felt like we have to share this experience in order to give others some ideas. We all wanted to enjoy our hard earned money into a good food anyway :)

On the hottest day of the year, when temperature went up to 42 degrees, my mother and I decided to arrive early to Suzzi’s to avoid the midday heat. ( I was eager to go to this restaurant as I am Swedish and haven’t been to Sweden in many years.) Opening time was at 9:00 am and we arrived at 8:45. The door was open, so we went inside to be in the shadow. We did not take a seat, but stayed by the entrance reading the menu while we waited. About 5 minutes later, a lady comes and tells us they are not open in an annoyed manner. I then asked if we could wait inside for 10 minutes until the opening time to avoid the heat outside, but to my surprise her answer was “no”. I am of course still shocked by this bold answer and lack of empathy. Even if the food might be good, I would definitely never recommend to go to restaurant where there is clear lack of empathy and hospitality. I’m utterly disappointed, specially having such high hopes...

Came here because of a long wait, thinking that it’s a great cafe to eat brunch. It was a big mistake. Most probably only locals go there. The food is just not it. Looks pretty good but taste not good, not even fresh I would say. The service was also pretty bad. The only staff member that tried to explain and help us out was a young woman. The waiting is not worth it, since you wait till the server is going to finish talking with a stranger:/ then he will have a talk with another staff member and maybe after 15 minutes will clean the table and sit you. The food was hard, the bread and the waffle were so hard that it was barely possible to cut them...
