Masaniello - Pizzeria e Cucina — Restaurant in Bordeaux

We had a very bad experience last night in this restaurant. We booked a table for 8:30 p.m., and we arrived on time for dinner. When we came in, no one welcomed us, and we stood at the door for a while. Then, a guy came and barely greeted us. He was clearly in a rush. He checked our reservation and told us that there was some waiting time. We asked for how long, he said "let me check!" And then went away and left us standing there with no information (rude!) Next, we stood at the door for 5 more minutes and then we went outside because we were blocking the entrance. Long story short, we spent 45 minutes waiting outside (even though we had a reservation! Unbelievable!) And the guy was extremely rude, disorganised (made some people who arrived after us come inside before us), irresponsible, and unprofessional! He didn't apologise, not even once! After 45 minutes waiting outside in the cold, we kindly but firmly asked for an explanation. This guy, instead of taking responsibility for this mess, he shamelessly blamed it on the clients saying that people stay overtime despite knowing that others are waiting and that he can do anything about it (like wt*! It's not your first Saturday night, you should anticipate, or at least explain things to your clients). The rudeness and the unprofessionalism of this guy are unmatched ! Extremely disappointing. We decided to not have dinner there. We were not the only ones experiencing that mess that night, there were at least 5 or 6 other tables waiting for more than 40 minutes outside like us. Never again....

Authentic Italian. The pizza was as good as I’ve had in Italy. There was a great selection of Italian wines as well which we love. The staff were warm and friendly on our arrival. The pizza came out quickly, but there was a delay on my wife’s pasta dish, so the waitress came and asked if I would like them to take back the pizza (which was getting cold) and cook a new one for me when my wife’s pasta was ready. This is a sign of a good restaurant staff. Anyone can give good service when things are going well, but when problems arrive, it’s these sort of restaurants that I prefer to go to with attentive and well-trained people to manage difficult situations to ensure their customers have a good night. Both pizza and pasta returned soon after and were delicious. We finished the meal with Tiramisu which tasted nice, but needed more coffee in it, as there was a lot of cream which diluted the coffee taste overall. Don't usually write reviews, but had to this time. Seated (we brought our daughter who is 31 months). Entertained her with toys and a few small things to eat, and she was reasonably well behaved. No water, no bread, no service - several tables seated after us had all of these before us. There was a nice couple seated at our communal table after us who ordered before we did - it was at that point, which was about 15-20 minutes later, that we left. We have never done that in France before (I can't remember doing that anywhere), and we have dined in many restaurants, with and without Michelin stars. We are not overly stuffy North Americans who expect the same service culture in Europe as we receive in North America - we simply expect to be treated as you would treat your own family, and that was certainly not...
