I came 20 mins before 7pm and the lady told me they still have to eat their dinner before they open for dinner at 7, which was fine by me. So I just made a reservation for 7pm.
When I came back, I asked the server that I will go straight to the main course and asked what he'd recommend. He said duck. Again, I was fine with the suggestion and paired it with a nice red.
The duck dish came, well presented and the flavors are nice. However, the meat was chewy. I'd have to struggle with the knife to slice it. When I chewed on it it was giving a fight and felt like chewing a rubber.
The worst part was when I complained about it. The server came and took my plate. He asked me what I want to do with the food. I told him I don't know yet as I got frustrated. He took my plate. And nothing happened.
After about 20 minutes or so, since there was no action on my complaint, I asked for the bill. Lo and behold, they were charging me for the food I wasn't able to eat. The server was trying hard to push the blame on me. He was telling me I agreed to the duck and the way it was cooked. He was right. I did agree to all his recommendations. But that doesn't mean, serving me food I couldn't at the very least chew. That wouldn't be right.
I questioned the bill several times until one guy, who I think was the boss, came and offered to replace the dish. He came back himself, with a plate of Sea Bream. At this point, I was famished and couldn't care any less than to just have dinner. The fish was okay. Coked perfectly, I cleared the plateand ordered another glass of wine.
I tried to order dessert but had to decide against it. I got up thanked the...

We're really enjoying the foodie scene here in Bordeaux. We seem to be finding beautiful fresh food everywhere we go.
After a long sleep in, & finding it hard to decide where to eat, we stumbled across this cute cafe called @restaurantloulou
The staff were just beautiful, we got a reservation without any problems, & boy were we happy we decided to eat here🙏🏻 Each course was soo delicious; simple, fresh & flavoursome. Although we would normally opt for a white wine to go with seafood, we have really been into our reds lately, so we went with the recommendation which from the Graves region Mail Caillou 2015. A lovely drinking wine to go with food & at €23 a bottle, we weren't complaining!
Prices were very reasonable. 3 course meal with coffee & a bottle of wine €104👌 Such good value especially for the quality of food. Highly...
