Zèphirine: An Unforgettable Farm-to-Table Experience From the moment we arrived at Zèphirine, we knew we were in for something special. Despite being significantly delayed by an unexpected French airstrike (yikes!), the owners greeted us with such warmth and understanding, instantly putting us at ease. This truly set the tone for an extraordinary evening at what is clearly a labor of love for this family. Zèphirine is a true farm-to-table gem, run by a dedicated husband and wife duo. The daily changing menu, a testament to their commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients, meant every dish was a delightful surprise. And what surprises they were! The food was, without exaggeration, the best we've ever had. Each plate was a masterclass in flavor and presentation, showcasing the incredible talent of the chef, who happens to be the wife's brother. This truly is a family affair, and you can taste the passion in every bite. The freshly baked bread was absolutely amazing, a perfect start to our meal. But it was the dessert that truly captured our hearts – a recipe passed down from the chef's grandfather, it was a sweet, comforting, and utterly delicious end to an unforgettable meal. Beyond the exquisite cuisine, the welcoming and accommodating nature of the entire Zèphirine team made our experience even more memorable. They truly went above and beyond, making us feel like cherished guests rather than just customers. If you're looking for an unparalleled dining experience where incredible food, genuine hospitality, and a true family spirit converge, Zèphirine is an absolute must-visit. You won't be...

Zéphirine is an absolute gem! This family-owned restaurant is a true labor of love.

The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in. The staff was incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. You can really tell this is a family-run business where they pour their hearts into providing a wonderful dining experience.

The food was simply exquisite. Every dish was prepared with an incredible attention to detail using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The flavors were bright and the presentation was beautiful. The menu changes regularly based on what's in season, allowing the chefs to really showcase the best of Bordeaux's cuisine.

The ambiance was so inviting and cozy. The dining room has a rustic yet refined feel with wood floors and vegetable-themed art adorning the walls. It made for such a warm and lovely setting to enjoy our meal.

Zéphirine truly is a perfect neighborhood bistro. From the exceptional service to the delicious food to the charming decor, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this hidden gem when...

What a truly wonderful experience - our visit to Bordeaux with all the family (including one chef!) and a night out at Zepherine! it was a haven of calm when we arrived from the crazy Bordeaux traffic - such a welcome and friendly greeting by one of the owners, being shown to an attractive space all ready for us. We were 7 people and lucky to get in! The service was so thoughtful and helpful, the staff so passionate and knowledgable about the food and wines - encouraging our excitement. Starting with spectacular cocktails whilst we mused over the menu. The food was some of the best i have ever had and so beautifully presented. Lovely to have the sharing starters and then your own main and desert - good size portions, exquisite flavours and textures - excellent choice of wines, advised by the staff and beautifully paired with our choice of food. It was such a lovely family event - and we are grateful to Marie who put up with our changes of booking arrangements during the week before! Merci mille...

I pass by Zéphirine almost every day and have always been curious—it’s open from morning to night and always smells amazing. Since I don’t understand French, I never knew what the menu board said. Last night, we finally tried it, and it was such a wonderful surprise! Everything was made with fresh, local ingredients. The atmosphere was warm and friendly—you could see the happiness on everyone’s faces, including ours. The bread was great, and the asparagus and salad were unexpectedly delicious. Their pickled vegetables added amazing texture and flavor. I had the margie (fish), and it was fresh, juicy, and paired with a buttery sauce—I wish I could have it every day. The veggies were perfectly roasted but still juicy. Dessert was lovely too—no complaints at all. Highly recommend! It’s a cozy, feel-good place that really feels like home.

I went with very high expectations after the high reviews I read. And let me tell you, they way exceeded all of my expectations!! The staff all spoke English and took the time to explain all of the dishes to us. The kitchen team went nonstop all night. It was amazing to be able to see them work. We all ordered the tasting menu and it is really the way to go. Why choose just one thing to try?? Every dish was the highest quality in both appearance and taste. The fish and eggplant dish really stood out. Manners alone prevented me from licking the plate. We tried all three desserts offered and it is impossible to say which was best. The dishes were innovative without being too strange for the normal person. If you are considering a splurge meal in Bordeaux then this is the place to choose.

The best restaurant meal I have ever had in my life. The selection of starters to begin with was unbelievable, the terrine was amazing, but the egg dish that followed was even better. Each course actually got better and better. Had the fish for the main course which again was unbelievably good. The depth of flavour in the sauce, the texture and flavour of the fish, and the carrots and beans as well were again probably the best I have ever eaten. Even the dessert, which normally isn't my favourite course, was perfect. The zephirines that the pastry chef is famous for more than lived up to their reputation, and I am also very glad that the owner recommended us to pair it with their dessert wines. This place is absolutely worth a visit, and worth every penny.
