La Cantine du Saint- Roch — Restaurant in Carcassonne

Really nice place, the food is really good. We did their menu option which is really great value for money, there are few options but I feel like they are just enough (If you want more options there are but these aren't in the menu and are more expensive). The service was amazing, we were attended by a young man who was the nicest, and recommended us their specialty dessert. Even though we can understand french (more or less, and only my father and I) he made an effort to talk to us in spanish, which we really appreciated. I'd definitely recommend it, if we ever visit again I'm sure...

We arrived late to the city (21.45) only to find the restaurants near our apartment closed or closing.

This was the only place, despite the hour, willing to serve us food. The waiter was very welcoming and seated the 4 of us. The service was excellent, no problems that our French was very poor menus were available in English. The food was really great. One Duck, Salmon, lamb shank and Italian burger. The waiter chose our wine a lovely Chardonnay. We were the last to leave my at least 60 mins but were put under no pressure. The place was clean...

Very very poor. Rude waitress and slow service. The owner and bartender were rude. We felt very unwelcome. Locals were all served before us even though they arrived a long time after us. We are 2 polite middle aged English french speaking couples. Duck casserole was OK. Fish was dry, hard and over cooked . Chips swimming in olive oil. Duck burger hard and over cooked. Beef tartare was not finely chopped or nicely prepared and it resembled a lump of mince straight from the butchers slab. Not...
