Delicious banana bread with cream and nuts. Huge variety of cakes and cookies. It’s a paradise for a sweet tooth people like me. They have coffee and tea.
It’s cozy inside. Nice interior and music. Good place to stop and warm with a cup of hot tea when it’s cold outside.
The only thing that bothered a little bit is that there’s only one guy was working and it took very long time before he took our order, I wanted to order at the cashier zone but he said we should sit down and he will come. He was busy with customers that came to order a take-out, preparing drinks for them. It’s an idea to have two people working there, because one man was doing everything alone: cleaning tables, making drinks for take-out and for customers inside, accepting delivery of cakes for the cafe and bringing some ingredients to the kitchen. He couldn’t manage it so well. But in general it’s a place I would come back again. I...
Read moreAbsolutely SPECTACULAR brunch today at Méery Cake - what a find! 😍 As with many places in France it doesn't do brunch til 12pm (though is open for takeaway cakes/coffees before then) After arriving at 11:15am and seeing the phenomenal array of delights on offer, we said we'd go for a wander and return at 12pm. When we got back the owner had already set up a pretty table just for us, and explained the brunch options to us (as our French is quite rusty 😅) For €39 total we each enjoyed: freshly squeezed orange juice, a hot beverage of our choice, a choice of either fresh filled bagels or tarté with the most ENORMOUS salad, a charcuterie & cheese platter to share, AND our choice of cake each from the mind-blowing selection 🧁🍰🥮🤤 We left totally STUFFED and already planning an excuse to return! Highly...
Read moreA cosy hangout for locals, great cake selection and portioning. One dissapointment. A mistake on the menu, meant that the tea labelled "the oriental" isn't a Green Tea as clearly described, but a completely different Rooibos Infusion.
Rather than revert directly to an online review, we give people a chance to fix such things in the moment, as typing mistakes happen. However, when the manager came over, rather than offering a Green Tea to make up for their typing error, they just informed us "that's the Oriental, we just described the ingredients wrong, enjoy" No apology. No offer to exchange it for something else. Very naive behaviour, from a manager. I know it's France, but please learn from this, and consider things from a customer's...
