We chose Le Trivalou for dinner on our last night in Carcassonne. There were many restaurants in that street but we liked the look of the menu so booked a table.
We found the staff absolutely lovely. My partner can speak far more French than I but the waitress was genuinely lovely with my poorer attempts.
The food was absolutely amazing. I had the chicken in french parsley puree with roasted garlic, mashed potato and seasonal vegetables. I have a food allergy and as I suspected the vegetable I was allergic to was amongst the veg I didn't eat them. I hadn't mentioned this to the staff so wasn't their fault (besides I am happy as long as I can eat around). The food was delicious and I am trying to figure out how to replicate this now we are back home.
My partner had the sea bass in a carrot and sweet potato mash/puree. He thoroughly enjoyed this as well.
For deserts I had the Panna Cotta and my partner had the Creme Catalane. Again both were delicious.
Wish we had discovered this place earlier in our holiday. I don't review many places so definitely shows how much we enjoyed our...
Read moreLooks like just a small restaurant down a quiet street in Carcassonne. TripAdvisor gave it some good reviews so I went with my wife for dinner, hoping to use their two course seventeen euro menu. Anyway, the twenty-five euro three course menu looked good. It was a warm evening so we sat outside with a good view of passersby. So, first course: a superb gazpacho. Very tasty. We were thinking we've made a good choice here tonight. Second course: bream with risotto and vegetables. Light, and firm texture. We knew we'd leave the table without that full-up feeling where you have difficulty sleeping. Third course: a selection of small but perfect chocolate mousse, crème brulee, meringue, and espresso. Okay, the caffeine might mean sleeping is a little difficult, but to be honest, after such a meal, who cares. I will live with that for the memory of such an...
Read moreLe Trivalo, located next to our hotel apartment, Les Clés de la Cité, pleasantly surprised us with its exceptional food and friendly staff. Despite its unassuming appearance as a small restaurant with paper place mats and napkins, the quality of the cuisine far exceeded our expectations. We were greeted warmly by the staff as they prepared to open, and our decision to book a table was well-rewarded. The duck leg confit and chicken with garlic and parsley sauce were standout mains, leaving a lasting impression with their delicious flavors. The gourmet coffee, accompanied by a tasting plate of four desserts, and the bread pudding dessert were the perfect way to end our meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Le Trivalo and would highly recommend it to others looking for excellent food in a...
