AVOID. This team is a joke - they should not work in hospitality.
We arrived at 8:30pm on a sunday night late oct. There was roughly 5 empty tables inside, but we were told that we could only sit outside for 2 people in case groups were coming. They did not even want to split a table for 6 into 2+4 (there was no reservation). A bit strange, but we respected their will.. we checked outside and decided to leave as it was really cold. We thanked them, and on my way out, I'm swinging by the bathroom.
Please picture this. The bathroom is 10m away from the restaurant. Once inside, my partner saw the waiter run outside to the bathroom and knock hard on the door saying "madam please madam!" I was scared, opened the door hoping everything was ok. The waiter then says "sorry you're not having dinner here you can't use the bathroom". This situation was so unreal - I was shoked thinking it was a joke.
I am truly sorry to conclude that their restaurant is so cheap that a toilet flush is too expensive for them, and worth ruining relationships with clients.
Besides, this place is really overpriced! Small plates, and same quality compared to the restaurant next door. Go to la Maison du Cassoulet just 20m away. Cassoulet are DELICIOUS, staff is awesome, and you get a much better value...
Read moreFirst time trying cassoulet and we are sure glad we found this restaurant. We tried to go to without a reservation last night but were turned away because it was fully booked, so we made a reservation for tonight. We got one of the prix fixe menus for €38,90 with the salade des gésiers (gizzards), cassoulet traditionnel, and île flottante. We also tried a non prix fixe meal of tomate burrata and cassoulet gourmand, which is the cassoulet traditionnel with more meat and seared foie gras added. It goes without saying that everything was delicious. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked sausage, foie gras, chicken, and duck, along with the fantastic flavor of the white beans. Service was impeccable; thanks to our waiter we learned that red wine goes with cassoulet. Paid less than €140 for 2 kir, the meals, and a bottle of local red wine (Quintessence). All we can say is Merci beaucoup for a great meal. And don't forget to make a...
Read moreWe were staying in Carcassonne for a night and wanted to try cassoulet for our evening meal. As we hadn’t booked we had to sit in the courtyard but that didn’t bother us as the courtyard was very nice, lit and the weather was fine. We chose the Tasting Menu at €34 pp. My husband had the Salad with Gizzards as we’d never heard of them cooked before and it seemed a popular choice on the cite’s menus. He was pleasantly surprised, and would have it again, they were the best he’d ever had! The cassoulet was with duck and extremely filling. It tasted delicious but be warned the portion size is very generous. Dessert of the day was crème brûlée and was a perfect end to the meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were friendly and even helped me with my French. Would definitely recommend if you wanted to try cassoulet whilst in Carcassonne but if you feel the cold, make sure you make a reservation...
