I’ve been going to this restaurant for nearly 20 years. I wasn’t a fan of most of the changes made by the current owner, but I always like to support local eateries, so still go in on occasion. Up until tonight it had been uninspired, but fine. We met some friends who are in Vaison for the first time and wanted a casual meal on the square. The waitress informed us they were short staffed and she was sick, so we’d have to be patient. We were able to put in drinks order 15 minutes later, and our food order another 20 minutes later (that’s how long the waitress stood out in the square with her friends smoking). About 40 minutes later she stopped by to take our order again, at which time we learned she’d forgotten to enter them with the kitchen. Had we known the sad meals that we’d be presented with 40 minutes later we would have gotten up and left. The fries were cold…not like the order sat for a while cold…more like they’d made a large batch a couple of hours earlier and just threw them on any plate that ordered them until they ran out. The tartare de boeuf was so ground so finely it had the mouth feel of slime, the pork & chicken were both severely overcooked, and when the waitress asked about the meal and I said it could have been better she just kind of shrugged it off and thanked us for our patience. It just seems as if none of the staff care at all about the quality of the food or service. I rarely write reviews because everyone has an off night, but I feel it’s worth advising others to choose one of the other restaurants on the square that will at least put in...

Pictures from reviews a few years ago suggest the pizzas back then were freshly made. I was given a base made in a factory (probably frozen) which was dry, chewy and tasteless, with half-cooked ingredients added on top. When I told the server this she agreed and didn't seem surprised. My partner's burger was OK, but the chips were soft and lukewarm. Overall very poor value for money. House wine was OK, and the service reasonable, but there are much better options...
