PŌPOKI — Restaurant in Châlons-en-Champagne

This is one of my favorite places to order from. Even before I moved to France permanently, I had tried ordering from this place a few times (more than three, I think!) and instantly loved it. The food is always fresh, the packaging is great, and every time I receive my order, I feel genuinely happy.

Now that I’m living in France permanently, I still regularly order from this place because the food really suits my taste. My favorite menu item is the salmon donburi (salmon rice bowl), which you can customize with additional toppings—it’s such a well-balanced meal set.

Although the waiters are friendly and the place is very nice, cozy, well tidy and clean, we had food poisoning, may be from the sauce or any of the ingredients. This ruined our holidays as I spent the night vomiting and with diarreas. Two days after still did not recover fully and it looks like I may have some bacteria. My husband had the same problem. We enjoyed two meals two evenings in a row at this delightful locally owned restaurant. The veggies are fresh and there are plenty to choose from and the service was personable. To spice it up ask for some hot (Sriracha type) sauce. Local Orjy beer and Mateus Rosé are served. The weather was too chilly to sit outside but we imagine in the summer Pōpoki’s courtyard is the place to be in Châlons-en-Champagne. We highly recommend this restaurant....
