I visited here in end of December. The place was very much packed and the desserts in display looked great. I ordered here Buche praline and Buche Vanilla (typical Christmas cakes). While the Buche Praline was very good in taste, I found that the the bread used for Buche Vanilla was very dry, almost as if it was not fresh. The sweetness can be reduced a little to enhance the other flavors in their dessert. My friend ordered a Buche chocolat, and she found it to be very good. But I noted that it didn't had any bread in it, it was almost like chocolate mousse so if you don't like lot of chocolate, then this might not be a choice for you. Also i noticed that one of the lady at the billing counter was very rude on one customer as the person was trying find a place inside. However the ambience in this place was good and they have a large sitting space. You may find the prices on a bit higher side when comparing with its value for money proposition. For me it is a 3.5 star but unfortunately the Google maps doesn't allow to rate in half...

However, on receiving our comparatively expensive petit dejeuner I was disappointed that the expensive coffee was cold; very cold. I politely asked, in french, for a warm coffee and this did indeed come. Second time lucky. To say it was delivered in a huffy and immature manner accompanied with a veiled accusation of lying, would be an understatement. This a small complaint. But you wouldn't take that level of petulance from a 4 year old, never mind somebody who was a lot more than four. The food itself was meagre, by comparison to two other locations in the same street, and more expensive. Before you suspect the owner of the establishment was having a bad day, she greeted every customer with saccharine levels teeth rotting sweetness. If this happened in Ireland, you would immediately suspect heavy sarcasm was involved. In this instance I am going with 'immature...
Read moreRibeauvillé is - apart from the constant traffic - a pretty little town. And this patisserie here offers wonderful items and also some light menus.
We grabbed a quiche to go first (salmon) and were very impressed. Nicely made, fresh ingredients. A nice and savoury quiche. So we decided to get inside to get a good number of desserts, small cakes and patisserie: with nuts, chocolate, caramel and more.
They were all really lovely made, really nice-looking desserts. Taste-wise they were good as well. The mousse-filling light and sweet. It's good stuff. But: most of the items we bought were a bit variations of the same thing. In the end most of them were filled with mousse. Which is fine, but a bit more of a variety would have been nice.
But: they got lots of different stuff. Surely a place to go back to try some more and...
