Sorry to say but this was a horrible experience. Our party called the restaurant ten days in advance for reservation. We asked specifically whether a table with a waterfront view is available. We were told that tables are available if we agree to change the time and split our 10-people party into two groups. We agreed and went ahead with the booking. The day before we called the place again to check if everything was still ok, got reasurance that the reservation is good. We showed up in time to find no reserved table, not at least one. The staff did not even apologize, but offered two tables on a backstreet faceing the back of the restaurant. We accepted this offer and got seated. For the next 20 minutes there was no service except for a question if we want to drink. We asked for a menu book to decide on our food and drinks. We were pointed to a paper on the wall of the building serving as the menu. After another five minutes of waiting with no interest from the staff to helping us with the choice of food and drinks we decided to leave. This was a really bad experience, hopefully it was an exception but...
Read moreThis was honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten in my life!! I came here during a trip to Colmar back in October, and we loved it so much that we came back here to eat 2 nights in a row. I started out with their snail soup appetizer; from reading the menu, I thought it would just be a regular snail dish, but I am so glad that it turned out to be a soup, because this soup alone made it worth the visit here. Every spoonful was heavenly, and I seriously could’ve made a meal out of this alone! For my main course, I chose a braised pork shank that came with a potato side kind of similar to potatoes au gratin. This dish was also heavenly, and the size was more than enough to fill you up. The pork was marinated just right, and it was so tender that the meat just melted in your mouth. The service here was also very friendly. If I am ever back in Colmar again, I will definitely make a...
Read moreI usually don’t review places, but this place inspired me. After a few days of fantastic food in Colmar - we tried this place for the “fresh fish charcroute.” Half of the fish was not only raw, but we were unable to cut through it with a knife. As a chef, it’s clear it was frozen at one point - fine with me, but defrost and cook it thoroughly. We stopped eating it, notified the manager politely, and he just asked us if we were finished, took the plates, and offered us a coffee (no translation errors, the dialogue was clear between us). If they had offered to exchange the plate, I probably wouldn’t be here typing this now. Also, there was an indoor cat climbing on chairs and begging for food from everyone in the dining room......
