L'Arbalète — Restaurant in Colmar-Ribeauvillé

Nice place in one of the most picturesque small towns in Alsace. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't offer much. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty. The waitress was quick to take our order and serve the drinks but then we waited 45 minutes for our pizzas. People around, who came later than us were served with no much delay. When asked what was going on, she replied with a grin that they had a big group and cannot do anything. Finally, the pizzas arrived but were already pretty cold, chewy and had no taste, so we decided not to have our coffee and dessert at this restaurant. I cannot recommend...

Da auf der Karte leider keine Kaltgetränke aufgeführt sind, wollte ich erstmal nachfragen, welche Biersorte ausgeschenkt wird. Die Wirtin erklärte mir sehr unfreundlich, dass es nur Getränke gibt, wenn auch gegessen wird. Meine Freundin bestellte Kalbssteak mit Pilzen und Gemüse. Auf dem Teller befand sich neben dem Fleisch: ein(!) geschnittener Pilz, ein Rosenkohl(!) und eine halbe geschnittene Karotte. Auf meiner Pizza Bolognese waren 3(!) Oliven. Was soll das? Ist das diese elsässische Gastlichkeit, von der niemand redet? Wenn ich in ein Gasthaus gehe, erwarte ich ein Essen, dass in Qualität und Menge über jeden Zweifel erhaben ist, denn ich bezahle auch dafür!

Comme il n’y a malheureusement pas de boissons froides sur la carte, je voulais d’abord savoir quel type de bière est servi. L’hôtesse m’a dit très peu aimablement qu’il n’y a que des boissons quand on mange. Ma copine a commandé du steak de veau avec des champignons et des légumes. Sur l’assiette, à côté de la viande, il y avait un champignon (!) coupé, un chou de rose (!) et une demi-carotte coupée. Sur ma Pizza Bolognese il y avait 3 (!) olives. Qu’est-ce qui se passe? Est-ce l’hospitalité alsacienne dont personne ne parle? Quand je vais dans une auberge, je m’attends à un repas d’une qualité et d’une quantité irréprochables, car je...

Terribly unfriendly owner!! As we asked for a table for six he reacted without any respect claiming they were full (which was a lie) and even yelled at me. From outside it looked quite okay but inside the restaurant is pretty old and absolutely not homely. Luckily we found a better stop to enjoy the evening. Wouldn‘t recommend this...
