Brasserie Voltaire — Restaurant in Gex

I highly recommend Le Brasserie de Voltaire, a café located in the heart of Ferney Voltaire. It’s easy to get to from Geneva by two different bus lines. The spot is great for both locals and travelers.

The moment you step in, you feel welcomed by the owner, Ms. M. She makes everyone feel like they’re at home. The café is also bigger than most, so it’s easy to have a quiet conversation.

They have a great drink menu. But what’s really special is if you want something that’s not on the menu, they’ll make it for you. This shows they really care about their customers.

I haven’t tried their food, but my friends say it’s good. We like to meet here on Saturdays for coffee. Ms. M speaks French / English / Italian and Spanish and treats everyone really well. The café is also LGBTQI friendly and has outdoor seating.

The food was extremely good. We had the escargot to start followed by the Seabream with rice and veggies. Both dishes had great flavor. We were craving a crepe and even though it wasn’t offered on the menu, the chef made one for us! The service staff was great also. I am not very good at speaking French but they worked with me, allowing me to practice and helped me along the way. Definitely a great place to dine.

The wife and I caught a flight from Venice to Geneva a few days ago and stayed at an Airbnb. This place was just around the corner from where we stayed. Besides a few basic words, we don’t know any French. The waiter who greeted us smiled a friendly smile and seated us by a window with a view of the night life. We didn’t understand the menu or the waiter but were able to use google to communicate. The burger we ordered was really good and we all had an enjoyable experience! The wine 🍷 was tasty and went very well with our meal. The fries were delicious! Would definitely go back if I’m ever around that area...
