Buffalo Grill — Restaurant in Gex

Worst experience ever. We visited on a Saturday and arrived at 6pm. The restaurant was nearly empty and yet we were seated next to a group of people with small kids having a small party. It was quite noisy but we let it go as we too were there with our children who are a bit older so were quite well behaved. We were there to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The hostess was in a hurry to take our order so we ordered immediately. She downright ignored our children’s request for something. Food arrived all in one go. Drinks, Starters and main course together. We then ordered an extra dish from the menu which we waited for, for 45 mins. We twice went to check at the counter for when it would arrive but were ignored by the staff saying the hostess who served us earlier would be with us soon. That never happened. She seemed to have disappeared. We decided that we had enough and decided to leave. We had to wait another 15 minutes at the counter to pay as it seems no one was aware as to what we ordered. No apology at the end of this fiasco either. It was such a sad evening for all us. Specially my daughter who had been so excited to celebrate her birthday dinner at Buffalo Grill. Have you noticed that this restaurant seems emptier than usual lately? Well, let me tell you about my recent dinner experience there, and you'll understand why.

I used to have such great memories of the food from this place during the lockdown. The menu was fantastic, and it was always a great value for money. Unfortunately, things have gone downhill since then.

The service is even worse than before, and the quality of the food has taken a nosedive. They recently revamped the menu, and now it's mainly French dishes with American-sounding names.

The set menu we ordered came with quesadillas, but they were cold and had barely melted cheese and ranch sauce on them. Even the waiter admitted that he never eats them since they started serving these new quesadillas.

To make things worse, my husband's burger had to be sent back because they included a sauce we specifically asked them not to include. The replacement burger came out wrong twice, and we eventually gave up.

The restaurant's old west decor is now covered in dust, and there's a strange smell that does nothing for the ambiance. It smells like a fungus infestation. Needless to say, this was our...

Were told that we had to wait 45 mins before being seated, even if we saw a bunch of empty tables from the outside (feeling bad although we actually were seated in 10 mins). During the 10mins wait, we asked for beers since we saw the beer taps standing there at the reception, yet the waiter said it was broken.

After seating, we were disappointed again because they didn’t have the beer we wanted and telling us they had only one kind of beer left (there were at least 5 options on the menu). The beers came right away but I can’t understand up till now that who would serve beers with warm glasses.

For food, we all ordered steaks however none of them were cooked properly as we requested. It was not seasoned well and a bit difficult to chew.

Finally, when we tried to get more beers, they said the two we just finished were the last two bottles they had. Our Swiss friend said it was the first time in his life being treated like that no matter where in the world. We didn’t enjoy the meal at all with the food nor the service.
