As usual, I like to try and base my review on the main categories I feel are important in a restaurant. We ate twice from the set dinner menu and once at lunch.
VALUE - The flavorful sauces and ingredients were reasonably priced- especially in this town where we found that the least expensive restaurants were QUITE expensive - €20-€30 per person - and anything in the €10- €15 range was awful. Here you can have a full Indian plate in the dinner hour for €13 and it was very good quality. AMBIENCE- Nice, bright decor, themed prints on the walls, and Bollywood music on the flat screen TV. SERVICE - An attentive owner/waiter was much appreciated. We spoke to him after dinner to compliment him and we found that the recipes are his own from southern India, and that he trained the chefs himself. They prepare all of the food in house. QUALITY- We tried the dinner plate which was a set price of €12-14 and were very pleased. We were first served what I’ll call an amuse-bouche, in the form of a crispy, cumin cracker, which came out accompanied by three condiments - a fresh herb sauce, a chutney and a sweet sauce. The dinner came with the choice of entrée - lamb, chicken, beef or vegetable - side dishes included a flavorful raita, a yellow dahl cooked with spices and spinach, naan, and a basmati rice lightly scented with saffron. The dishes were well spiced and the quality of meat very good. I would recommend this restaurant as a nice, low cost option to eat out for a quality evening meal at a good price in Antibes.
A note on lunch : I did not return for lunch because although the flavors were good and the buffet was all you can eat, the food was lukewarm. It was in warming pans which may be fine for a family dinner, but for a restaurant, they do not keep food within the correct temperatures for either safety or enjoyment. I did appreciate that the food was not allowed to be touched or self-served by any customer with a filthy hand. Instead, this buffet was served by the staff, a much...
Read moreThe owner displayed discourteous behavior. When we raised concerns about the cleanliness of the dining area due to an unpleasant odor, the owner completely disregarded our requests and questions, as if we were invisible. While the staff members were polite, it was evident that the owner lacked basic courtesy and etiquette. And I believe he treats his staffs with a lack of respect.
Edit: Sir, this edit is for the comment I received recently from you on my bad experience I mentioned above.
First of all acknowledge the fact that your service and hospitality requires a lot of improvements. Secondly, you're incompetent in writing a response properly which can be comprehended by the reader. Third, I do not understand by the mention of which person/friend I have been influenced to write a review. I genuinely believe your work is not up to a decent level and I have visited a few Indian/Asian Restaurants and yours I regret the most. Lastly, this review is intended for fellow tourists seeking insight of this restaurant. So, this review is not aimed at seeking your not-so-asked validation but rather encouraging a focus on enhancing the quality of both the food and hospitality.
Alternatively, continuing to engage in online discussions with a lack of decorum resembles the behavior of an ill-mannered individual who is overly sensitive to negative feedback. Instead focus on the improvements rather than on blaming...
