Ruby’s Garden — Restaurant in Grasse

We were spending a few days in the Riviera and had been in Antibes for the day. It was oddly challenging to find a place that was open past 8PM for dinner that wasn't either super fancy or a tourist trap but luckily we stumbled upon Ruby's Garden. We were the only people in the lovely outdoor patio, which meant that the charming owner came to chat with us. I had the Salad Nicoise and my husband had a pasta dish. The portions were large and the food was hearty and comforting. The owner told us about her time in the US as an exchange student, which is where the impetus for the restaurant name came from. We had the mojito creme brulee for dessert and it was the stuff of dreams. Fresh mint from the very garden we were sitting in, perfect texture, balance of sweetness and the freshness of the mint was just incredible. We’ve been coming to France for three years now, we’ve easily eaten in over 30 restaurants, in between Antibes, Cagnes-Sur-Mer, Monaco, Saint Paul de Vence, you name it, but nothing compares to the food you’re going to find at Ruby’s. Everything there is freshly made and the most important-it feels like cooked at home. We went couple times and tried several delicious meals and their special desserts ( Pina colada flavour tiramisu is my personally favourite). DO NOT GO ! We picked this place because of the reviews, what a mistake, the reviews must have been wrote by the owners. We arrived at 7.04 opening time and escorted to the SHODDY outside area, dirty, poor tables etc, kitchen area looked dirty. I should have left on 1st impression. We ordered, ribs as they were supposed to be good, my wife ordered chicken wok, ribs were under cooked and fatty. My wife’s dish was just about edible. Went to toilet, Note: they had just opened !
