What a wonderful experience. This restaurant was recommended by someone we met earlier in the day. She suggested getting reservations and we're glad we did.

The service is friendly and inviting. The restaurant is underground in old caves, which makes it exciting and exotic.

The food... I can still taste the Foie gras. The texture, taste, and smell of this delicacy are amazing, as I'd never had it before. Our waiter offered this as a starter which he then recommeded be followed by the lobster roll and shrimp main plates. The wine pairing was equally splendid. The chocolate cream and whipped topping dessert finished everything off to perfection. Can't say enough about this place...

Reservations highly recommended. We opted for a 19:00 time and within 30 mins plus the place was nearly full.

For a last night in St Emillion we struck gold...

We stopped in for lunch and were greeted by Sam, who also served us. A small restaurant which is down a set of stairs into a cave in the hillside, it was a delight on a hot & sunny afternoon. After Sam went over the menu we started with the duck fois gras & escargot to be followed by the duck magret & roast veal chop. Rather than try to pick from their very extensive wine list we ask Sam to pair a wine for each of the main courses. For dessert we had a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream & a strawberry crumble. Our meal, frm start to finish, was superb. The wines were perfect and Sam's service could not have been better....

A MUST while visiting Saint Emillion !

Everything we had was delicious! Great quality (Even the accompanying bread was one of the nicest I've had at a restaurant)! As someone who lives in France, this restaurant is highly recommended! Although it was a busy evening, the service was great. We felt welcomed and appreciated. Staff were very friendly & accommodating (went above & beyond).

We had 2 mains & 1 dessert; • Tartar = an excellent dish

• Pigs feet = simple, but surprisingly good (as if you had a French grand-mère cooking for you)

• Chocolate fondant = to die for (must have)

Merci pour la très...

This is a fantastic place. We stopped in for lunch and the experience was fantastic. Is a great place and VERY friendly to families and American tourists as we are. The specials were fantastic. The owner brought over juice for the kids without charge with our kids (15,11 boys) loved. He recommended a much better wine choice in our price point which was fantastic as well. The owner speaks English well and there is an English menu too without the tourist scam. The ambience is amazing too! Quite a unique experience. After spending 4 days in Paris, this was our best meal of our trip so far. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had dinner at Lard et Bouchon and found it to be a decent experience overall. The food was okay — nothing particularly memorable, but nicely presented and satisfying enough. The wine list is extensive, though we felt the wines were quite pricey for what they were. On the positive side, the service was good throughout the evening. The staff were attentive and pleasant, which made the meal more enjoyable. All in all, it’s a decent spot if you’re in the area, though the value for money could be improved, especially when it comes to the wine.
