We went there for lunch. I had the salsify starter while my husband had the fried wonton. Both were delicious. The salsify was soft and the source was refreshing, the wontons were packed with mushrooms. I had the special of the day as my main, fish katsu, the coating was very crispy while the fish inside was still very soft. The beetroot ketchup was amazing and went really well with the fish. My husband had the satay chicken with potatoes, the potatoes were nicely cooked, he did wish there could be a bit more chicken. The dessert was light and refreshing as well. All the dishes were very tasty, the price was reasonable (can't get this quality of food with this price in London for sure), the team was helpful and friendly, definitely recommend this place if you visit Lillie!

My husband, daughter and I just had such a wonderful evening at the Bleu Canard. Clara welcomed us warmly and explained the food and wine options (many natural, organic and even some biodynamic wines). They have just a few choices of each of the carefully crafted entrees, plats and desserts and the three of us tried and shared most everything. It was such a pleasure to experience Clara’s enthusiasm for the food as well as the wine she was serving, and all dishes were prepared to perfection and beautifully presented. We even asked Clara to choose the wines to pair with our meals, and then we just relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Oh, and don’t be fooled by the non-descript front of the restaurant, as this is truly a hidden gem with excellent food and reasonable prices!

À deux pas de l’Opéra et de la Grand’ Place, rue Pierre Mauroy, se niche un restaurant dont j’avais beaucoup entendu parlé mais que je n’avais pas encore testé : Bleu Canard. Je suis donc allée faire un tour un midi dans cette adresse où l’ambiance du lieu douce et lumineuse invite à des déjeuner où les discussions se mêlent aux rires. Le bleu roi des dossiers de certains fauteuil et le terrazzo dans des tons vert d’eau des tables m’ont entraîné dans une rêverie et j’aurais pu rester longtemps assise à ma table pour regarder le monde défiler en me perdant dans mes pensées. En cuisine, le chef Ryo Nakamura propose une cuisine inventive où chacun trouvera son goût : carné, poisson et végétal. Je me suis régalée avec le tartare de thon en entrée où la tendresse du poisson est réveillée par une confiture d’algues surprenante et j’ai opté pour un butter chicken de folie, chou-fleur rôti (une de mes passions alimentaires), riz pilaf et un cheese naann onctueux à souhait en plat. Mon voisin de table s’est régalé avec le plat végé, mélange de textures relevé par une émulsion raifort. Je n’ai pas goûté les desserts mais de ce que j’en ai vu ils semblaient excellents. Côté boisson : bières locales et vin natures. Je me suis laissée tentée par un verre de vin blanc vif et intense qui a parfaitement accompagné mon déjeuner. L’équipe est adorable et avenante, ce qui contribue à passer un excellent moment. J’ai maintenant envie d’y retourner un soir pour prendre mon temps et aller plus loin notamment sur la partie des vins. Mon conseil, réservez, le midi le restaurant est assez rapidement plein, logique au vu de la qualité de l’offre et de l’ambiance fort sympathique de l’endroit !
