La Planque — Restaurant in Loches

Nicely located with a terrace on a small stream. Very friendly welcome.

We just wanted to drink something and didn't plan to eat yet. Especially not burgers! In France!

But the menu was very tempting. Lots of delicacies, described with great attention to detail. Very French, just packed between two halves of a bun. And way beyond what I would generally expect from burger restaurant. We had to try that after all, and were not left disappointed!

The dishes where very tasty, far from ordinary burgers, even the buns were more like crispy croissants.

We found La Plaque on our visit to Amboise. It's supposed to be a burger bar, but that is an understatement. It offers a masterclass in burgers. I had the roast beef one with sliced of mouthwatering beef cooked :a point' with cheese and a delicious sauce. Hubby had the chicken, equally good. We followed up with ice-cream, but there's plenty of choice. You can eat indoors or in the lovely courtyard out back. The service was both friendly and efficient and our little 🐩 caniche was made welcome too. We we t back and we hope to eat there again when we return to this beautiful part of France....

Worth a stop! We visited for lunch and enjoyed our meal. The staff was kind & helpful. The meals were fantastic! Like others have mentioned, these are less burger and more sandwich, but they are fantastic. We had the duck confit, and chicken burgers and both were delicious.
