Bangkok Royal — Restaurant in Lyon

We came a few times and were always satisfied until a young waiter ruined it by being so freaking rude that we walked out after sitting at our table no longer than 2 minutes. He unlocked the door, couldn’t be bothered to hold it open, turned his back and walked away. Not a hello, not a smile: it felt like we were bothering him by deciding to have dinner there. He threw the menus on the table then was unable to answer our questions. I have no idea if he spoke any French or English at all, which is fine and could make for funny situations, but his attitude was beyond unpleasant. One employee like this can ruin a business. Post confinement, we wanted to do a terrace and the waiter seated us and gave us menu. But the waiter and chef lady were quite rude and told us to leave after 15mins because we didn't make a reservation and there were other people waiting. I found it extremely rude to send away customers like that. If they had a reservation they should have put a reserved label on the table. But not send away customers who have been seated and given a menu and 15mind later...

A lovely place for a cosy and comforting meal. Staff were friendly, genuine and accommodating to us as non-French-speaking foreigners. The spring rolls, satay chicken and duck red curry were all beautiful, and the curry was served in a decorative bowl over a candle so it stayed warm as we ate.
