Gio Gio Pizzeria Lyon 2 — Restaurant in Lyon

I went to the Gio Gio Pizzeria (very hungry and) with very high expectations... and maybe that was the issue. Pizza is good, but not extraordinary. I was rather disappointed with the dough and the ingredients. Again, the pizza is good, but not at all at the level of an Italian pizza and I did not find it well above French pizzas.

The service was great, a very friendly waitress welcomed us with a big smile. Excellent to propose a special pizza for children. The stars are mostly for the service and the atmosphere.

Great atmosphere and very nice service, they are gentle and friendly, my antipast was amazingly good, focaccia 5,50€ fresh, good and big portions but the pizza was an disappointment, mine was a Gorgonzola et miel avec noix et raquette 16,90€ but I could barely taste the Gorgonzola or any cheese on my pizza, I was disappointed also ALL pizzas where burned, all! Every other table and ours were burned! Small little restaurant in the heart of Lyon. We sat outside on the worst table and chairs, very cheap... The mozza app is pretty sparse, a ball of mozza, oil half a cherry tomatoe but the pizza dough balls are good for dipping but not worth 9€. The pizza was good but VERY thin, I understand the concept of thin pizza but this was a bit silly. Uneventful as far as pizzas really, especially since Lyon had many great pizza spots. Great service but I wouldn't come back...
