A good place to eat in the old center of Lyon.
Place: It is situated in a small alley in the center of Lyon. The decoration is traditional on stone and there is also a terrace which tables on the alley.
Service: They were kind and fast enough. They recommended us a few things. It was curious that they do not have a menu as such but a huge blackboard that they place next to you.
Food: We had tuna tartar for starter. They were kind enough to split the dish into 2 as we were not super hungry. The tuna was well marinated and tasty. Mains were Angus beef bavette and Tuna Minut . The beef was well cooked, as requested medium rare. It lacked a bit of salt and spices on the meat. The side was baby potatoes roasted and a green salad. The Tuna was coated on sesame seeds, and came with side of jasmine boiled rice. Both portions were generous and well cooked. For desserts we had the traditional French Brioche with ice cream and a mi-cuit de chocolat (molten lava cake). Both were very nice, specially the Brioche which was caramelized.
This is a recommended place to have a nice lunch or dinner, it is not fine dining but you can have a...
Read moreWe did not really enjoy this place. The service was so slow, we had to wait for a while and try to catch the waiters attention occasionally. The food was ok with the issues such as: burrata was cut when they served it … the taste was average cheese fondue was a bit strange for me, it looked liked a baked cheese from the shop with a cheese tray sold together with it. The walnuts had a taste like they are old. meet was too raw for my partner, he couldn’t chew it steak tar tar had too much mustard and the salad with it as well.
I can’t say the food was horrible, but o cannot say it was perfect. Sadly we didn’t finish it…
I also didn’t like that when they changed from starters to the mains they kept the dirty crockery on the table… it was also a long waiting time
Staff was friendly but not too encouraged to make the...
Read moreWe found this restaurant by pure coincidence and decided to give it a try. We went there on a Saturday evening at 8pm and the place was rather empty (we found out later on locals tend to eat quite late) and got crowded around 8:30pm. The waiter was very nice and was accommodating as he knew we had to catch a train and had limited time to eat.
We ordered the bavette Angus which was very delicious. The plate comes with potatoes wedges and salad. It was so delicious, simple yet so good! The only thing I wish they had was steak sauce (i.e. pepper sauce!).
It was a great experience and I would recommend it if you wish to get a nice steak (bavette) without the...
