Obviously I'm in the minority here but I was expecting a real gem and instead we overpayed for slightly pretentious, bland food that you can make at home for 10% of the asking price.
Honestly very very disappointed! We were honestly excited to eat here and everything could have been made at home.
Decor/Service/Thoughts
With all the praise from everyone else and the menu, it was incredibly surprising to see the sad little portions as they arrived.
Instead of being seated in the lovely main dining room, us and another party were seated in this add-on which had a totally different design language and was kind of drab. FULL OF FRUIT FLIES!
The owner has a very loud presence and it's obviously his shtick, it may appeal to some but it came off as forced.
We were quickly seated at our reservation time and fruit flies just wouldn't leave us alone once the first dish had arrived! It made us and our neighbors laugh but honestly it got old real fast as half a dozen would swirl around.
Food
Entrées of duck pâté was just slightly above average pâté with 2 cold toasts. The menu made everything sound much better than it actually was.
The sautéed cèpes lacked imagination and were well, sautéed mushrooms on a plate. I can't overstate how small the portions were.
The homemade pasta were well cooked but certainly didn't have any gorgonzola, a trace flavor of some blue cheese with the nearly raw pears were plain bad. This dish was either messed up or we got unlucky.
The wild boar was covered in an overly beefy wine reduction and tasted like a slightly overcooked sub-par Sunday roast. Considering the portion was so small, the amount of inedible nerves/unrendered fat and cartiledge really continued to disappoint.
Between the disappointing food, the average wine list, awkward side-seating, fruit flies etc. For the asking price I could think of a dozen places I'd rather be.
We cut out losses for dessert and had crêpes suzettes and cheese at a known quantity restaurant that was on...
Read moreWent there a week ago took the 44 menu. Got the emulsion with eels. The taste was average and the chunk of eel was so small. Then we had the calf (5€ extra), the meat was good (almost raw but I didn’t mind), potato side was lovely. Desert : crepe suzette (3€ extra) undercook crepe and soaking wet bc of the sauce. Our friends took other which overall really nice. To sum up, it was ok but definitely not worth the price. There are so many better place to go in lyon. Especially in much nicer neighbourhood. It was fine but deserve a 3 to my opinion (I work in...
