This place was recommended to us. It’s terrific. Each dish we had was good and tasty. An egg entree, a beans dish, salmon tartare and rigatoni. They were all delicious. We were actually astonished at the flavour they managed to get into each dish. They were also very generous with the bread (“of course we give you bread, this is France!). We had a Rose for our wine and it was fruity and lovely too. I wouldn’t call this traditional French or Lyon food. It’s good international food. The server here was an utter delight. We got there at the likely staff turnover time between 6pm and 7pm. This young woman seemed to do the work of six people and all with a smile and a joke. It was quite something to see. The cost of the meal seemed reasonable. Two takeouts from this experience. We recommend the restaurant As a good one to visit. We recommend the server gets a pay rise.

This was the best dinner of our three nights in Lyon. The atmosphere and service were excellent. We had made a reservation in advance, which is necessary as it’s difficult to find a seat otherwise. We ordered truffle pasta, an Angus beef dish (can’t recall the exact name), half liter of red house wine, a rum baba, and a chestnut soufflé. EThe food was delicious and beautifully presented. One minor downside was having to pour the rum ourselves for the rum baba—we added too much since it was our first time trying it! 😄 The couple next to us mentioned they live in Lyon and frequent this restaurant, so it’s clearly a favorite among locals, not just tourists.

Went for dinner after a recommendation. The food was great! Had the beef and chicken for mains and the ratatouille and gazpacho for starters. Food was great! . Would def recommend this place for the food. However it took over 30mins to grab there attention for the bill. At the end I had to get up and stand at the front counter to pay for the bill. I could have left without paying and they would not have noticed. I believe they were understaffed so I can understand but it was frustrating. They lost two tables who couldn’t even place there order, they just left. But I would still recommend this place just for the food.

🌟 Had an amazing experience at "Le Mercière" and I am completely won over! 😍 The welcome was efficient, no unnecessary frills - just what you need. ⏩👌 The service was pleasant, although a bit slow for a lunch, possibly due to a crowded day. 🕰️🍽️ The ambiance, reflecting the typical Lyon bouchon style, is reason enough to pay a visit. 🇫🇷🍷 Now, let's talk about the food - outstanding! The mastery and flavors of traditional Lyonnais cuisine truly shone through. 🍲👨🍳 In conclusion, "Le Mercière" is a delightful spot, offering a taste of Lyon and its gastronomy. 🍽️🏞️ Highly recommended for a memorable experience! 👍👏

When I visited this restaurant, I felt like I’m in a medieval time. So old but really beautiful. It’s small but always full packed with people trying lyonnaise cuisine. We ordered something rare to find and i had this bloody sausage baked inside flaky bread. My friend had veal intestine which was really exotic but it taste really good. Not recommendable to people with sensitive appetite. This is a haven for exotic French cuisine. Find out and try this famous restaurant. I love their dessert also. It’s a busy atmosphere when we are there but the waiters are very humorous to put SMILE On our faces.
