Restaurant Taggat — Restaurant in Lyon

Where to start! Saw the 5.0 and we were curious albeit sceptical. Unwarranted, to say the least:

Unpretentious, modern restaurant, understated elegant, with a spot on focus on the exceptional food itself and the lovely service around it. And what a revelation the food itself is!!!

In detail: Amazing, friendly and helpful service. Price - quality ratio was unparalleled in France The wine, the wine! Exceptional cart with high quantity and such regional quality. A bottle here costs you less than at a wine trader at home, while being twice as good. Cheeses among the best we ve ever tasted Meat melting in your mouth Desserts so good that they give you anxiety they will be over soon No doubt this restaurant / chef and crew have a bright future ahead. Already above excellent

*Cuisine left us in awe, carefully tasting rach bite : The key here is sauce and composition - well rounded, inventive recipes where you try and figure out how the heck the chef does it. One of the best, maybe top 10 culinary experiences we have had so far.

+- if i want to find anything, the plates could match the highest quality a tiny bit better. But part of the understated excellence

Nous avons particulièrement bien mangé dans ce restaurant qui fait partie d'un hôtel et pourrait laisser penser que la cuisine serait un peu "banale". Visiblement les chefs en cuisine maîtrisent très bien leur sujet, c'est délicieux et goûtu, les cuissons sont parfaites et la présentation des plats est bistronomique ++ Le velouté au persil tubereux /stracciatella était juste une tuerie avec son crackers flottant 😍 Le bar corse avec son choux fleur rôti était particulièrement bien cuit avec un petit côté grillé qui relevait le goût. La joue de bœuf était fondante à souhait donc nous nous sommes vraiment régalés. Le service était sympathique et globalement réactif. Pour les points moins positifs : il y a un comptoir dans la salle où le patron (?) parlait bruyamment avec un ami en buvant un verre. On "profitait" à 100% de leur conversation et notamment de ses bruitages de voitures de sport... Un peu de vie /ambiance est tjrs sympathique mais là c'était gênant pour profiter du début de repas et vu les prix pratiqués, on s'attend à être plus au calme et pas dans une ambiance bar du village. Heureusement, il a quitté les lieux avant de notre plat principal. Enfin, le gâteau aux marrons était très bien présenté mais un peu trop lourd et pas assez aéré à mon goût, donc petite déception sur le sucré mais contrebalancé par les excellents entrées/plats...

Very nice and laid back restaurant by my taste. The food is simply amazing! Each bite was opening a new sensations through the whole multi course dinner. Flavours extremely well balanced that was ecstatic! Umami at it best! The suggested wines were paired very nicely. We enjoyed every single moment at Taggat!
