Had a wonderful dining experience at this cozy Japanese fusion restaurant that left a lasting impression. My husband and I both opted for the menu du soir. Our meal began with an amuse bouche that reminded me of oden. This was followed by an octopus dish that was light and refreshing.

There was a brief mix-up with my order due to a translation hiccup on my husband's part, but it led to a delightful surprise: an amazing duck dish that was flavorful and perfectly cooked.

For dessert, I had a delightful cheese selection, while my husband chose a decadent chocolate ice cream paired with a chocolate nut bar. To top it all off, we enjoyed a unique wasabi macaron, which added an intriguing twist to our sweet ending.

Overall, it was the perfect meal, blending comfort and creativity. I highly recommend making reservations, as I saw a group get turned away.

The chef even came out to greet everyone. This place is definitely...

We had to hastily reset our expectations mid-meal. We'd spent the first half agreeing that Saku was being undersold with its Bib Gourmand status in the Michelin guide. In our, admittedly entirely unqualified view, the Muse Bouche and first 2 courses were vying for worthiness of a star, so when the 3rd course, though very good, wasn't quite on a par with its predecessors, we fell into the trap of focussing on how it fell short of our elevated expectations... Oops! It was, in reality, perfectly good. As a small bistro with one wonderfully affable and efficient member of staff front of house, and judged against its Bib Gourmand class, it absolutely excelled and we were so pleased to have chosen to stop here on our journey. The skills would appear to be present in the kitchen to take Saku into another tier, but that would also be a loss in a way as eating this well at this price is truly a blessing. Arigato...

This is a legendary transformative experience. I'd rate this 6 stars if I could. I've been twice and both times it has changed my life. I still remember my meal here from 4 years ago, and I'll remember the meal I had here today for years to come as well. The food has transcended being good and instead is pure artistry on a plate. It looks as good as it tastes too. The chef is obviously very passionate about cooking and personally greets and serves every guest himself when he isn't in the kitchen cooking. For those looking at the price and wondering if you want to spend that much on dinner, my advice to you, is just do it, and you'll walk out saying to yourself that you'd spend three times the amount just to eat here again.

I cannot say enough good things about it.

Shut up and...
