The chef/manager verbally abused my family.
The cafe was almost empty when we arrived. Part of our order (a sandwich) took 30 minutes. We refused to pay for the sandwich as we were ready to leave when it arrived.
The chef tried to take photos of us (including my 9 year old child) and said he’d report us to a cruise ship (which we were not part of).
Disgusting treatment, slow/non-existent service, dirty kitchen (dirty dishes stacked up, chef in sweaty street clothes). Don’t waste your money or time in this horrible, soulless tourist trap!

Between the staff sitting down smoking at the front table being loud at noon in a supposed restaurant, as we approached the waitress ran at us a bit too eagerly which was off putting but as the cafe next door was full, we sat down on their terrace, a nice setting which is the only positive aspect I could point out, as we were about to order. Read moreReservations are necessary - and that was fine as we knew in advance. We found the staff formal and brusk but efficient and friendly. They appreciated our speaking to them in French - and the opportunity to have a joke about Brexit. The restaurant was, in our opinion, quite spectacular with beautifully designed interior rooms with historical decor. You go to a restaurant for good food, good wine - and both were available in plenty here. Overall we enjoyed our one dinner here and fond actually is to be very reasonably priced given the venue/location....
