This was the best restaurant I ate at in Marseille so far, and possibly the best restaurant I've eaten in since Covid started. My original plan was to eat at the cheaper burger place next door but whilst they were absolutely packed with people, the burger place was deserted. I therefore quickly changed plans, and even though I didn't have a reservation they were able to squeeze me in. Albeit, I did spend an uncomfortable few minutes standing around till someone noticed I needed a chair (or rather a bar stool). The food was well worth it though, the mint cannelloni was very unique, and the Tiramisu was not only a unique version of the Italian classic (or, I guess, a regional difference) but genuinely the best one I've ever eaten. This is no small amount of praise given that it's my favourite dessert and so I've eaten a LOT over my 29 odd years. The staff were also very attentive and friendly. Also, in case you are worried about English: everyone speaks English, and I mean everyone. The food is reasonably priced, but you can tell the quality is good and that the chefs are experts in what they do. Whether you want something meaty and strong, or meat-free and... well, still strong, Le Relais Corse should be high up on your list.
The desserts are certainly tasty - but coming in at €9 each, compared with the ~€18 for a main course, if you're coming here on a budget consider them optional.
The atmosphere is friendly and informal - perfect for a family...
Read moreOne of the best meals of my trip so far! One of my local friends took us here, remembering a great meal she'd had there recently. Very authentic Corsican food. I had a braised duck leg on a bed of cabbage, thick cut bacon, and roast turnips and apples, perfectly seasoned with local herbs. Very seasonal, and the meat was tender and copious. My friends split a tapas board and the squid appetizer. We all split two cafe gourmands. Not one thing was short of delicious, which is pretty rare! Doesn't look like much from the outside, but definitely worth a...
