I stop to take a photo of a charmingly « Pagnol » type corner restaurant in one of Marseille’s artist quarters. Curiosity pushed me past it’s door into it’s welcoming interior. Covid 19 prevented me from being able to sit down at a table and enjoying the environment, but why not try taking something home to eat, I thought. I ordered the two diserts that were on the blackboard, and enjoyed watched them being made for me. I was impressed by the thoughtfulness to detail in the presentation. I was extra happy that my food was put into a 100% compostable container. When I finally tasted my purchases I had to write a 5 star review for « Les Eaux de Mars ». The deserts were delicious with delightful taste and texture surprises. I can’t wait to return!

This charming local spot has a warm, authentic vibe — the kind of place where people drop by for a glass of wine and end up staying longer. Service is fast and friendly, and the food arrives quickly, which adds to the relaxed flow.
Unfortunately, the dishes didn’t quite meet our expectations. The tamara and aubergine caviar felt a bit flat — both dishes were heavy, but lacked contrast. Some acidity or crunch would have lifted them and brought better balance. The bao stole the show with a fantastic kimchi, though again, it lacked a fresh counterpoint to round it out.
All in all, a lovely place with great energy, but the food could use a bit more care and balance to...
Read moreFood was very good, wine delicious, but "customer service" terrible and condescending. We reserved a table outside for 7pm but when we arrived we were told we could only sit inside. After a short conversation we were told we "could" sit outside until 8.30pm because they were so nice. At a table with a note for 19h reservation, which was obviously ours. Before it even got really full, a waitress refused to serve us. If you're into overpriced white gentirified hipster restaurants that think unfriendliness (especially to people of color in a completely white space) is cool or makes them special, this is the place to go. I'm from Germany, I know what I'm talking about, my...
