I will start by saying that there are much better places to visit for breakfast! Anyone who has read any of my reviews before will know I like to be fair highlighting good bad etc for future potential customers rather than being one way or the other. This place is situated at the beginning of a busy street. It looks inviting with its signage and tables and chairs outside. We decided to visit Elizabeth's based on its presentation and the fact it appeared in some of the pictures online to serve a UK style breakfast. We sat inside. The interior appeared clean and tidy. There were three staff, 2 males and one female. Of particular note was the English speaking lady. (PLEASE SEE MORE BELOW) One of the gentlemen waiters served our table. We ordered coffee and breakfast. This was a little confusing because of the language barrier but we got there eventually. We did ask for some small amendments asking for one of the rolls not to have butter and another without cheese due to allergies. A short while later the English lady came over. She was quite rude and told us she needed to make it simple for the chef so she had decided we were all going to get the same thing! She turned and started to walk away! We said politely and clearly that was not acceptable and she abruptly interacted with us before then walking off to the kitchen. I would like to add we were left feeling very uncomfortable and wondered whether or not we should just leave(?) We agreed to stay and see it through as we didn’t want to cause an issue. The food arrived quickly and on whole as ordered. STAFF ATTITUDE 2/10 I would not expect, neither have I ever been treated this was way in an eatery let alone in Le Touquet which is renowned for its friendliness. I have since noted in previous reviews that this lady has been rude to her customers before (SEE TRIPADVISOR). It would appear to me that she doesn’t like English tourists which becomes apparent in her comments below. In my first review she comments … “APPARENTLY YOU ARE NOT AN EXPERT IN COFFEE, WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST IN LE TOUQUET AND WE HAVE OUR OWN BRAND MAYBE YOU ARE USED TO DRINKING CAMP COFFEE OR WORSE A BUCKET OF COSTA”. I have to disagree and it is only my opinion but I maintain that the coffee here is not great. Furthermore, after my first review that was deleted, she replied stating “MAYBE YOU HAD DRUNK TOO MUCH THE PREVIOUS EVENING WHICH IS OFTEN THE CASE WITH ENGLISH TOURISTS”. This was an incredibly Anglophobic comment and definitely not the case with us… what an awful assumption and a terrible thing to say! COFFEE 3/10 coffee was like cheap English greasy spoon stuff. FOOD 6/10. This place would not be on my list of options again purely because of the attitude regarding two minor requests to our orders and the poor coffee. The food was actually OK but basic and not as I would expect from a café like this. The positives are, it's cheap and it will get you by. There are far better places in my opinion so take the time to have a look around. If you want reasonable and reliable there is...
Read moreDeception!
Answer to your answer: I asked for the cream you usually serve with the scones:) the gentleman understood very well to what I was referring.
I did not gesticulate oO what a way to speak to your clients!
I did address my request and my surprise to him directly he was completely unable to provide an intelligible answer. Nobody at the table understood a word of what he was trying to convey.
I understand the COVID-19 rendering you unable to provide the cream, maybe warning the clients when they order the scones could be a good prévention to the surprise.
My message was intended to let you know I felt a change in the quality of the place, I thought it would be interesting to know that the regulars are surprised. It seems you’d rather not know?

Read moreWe were there at a market day. Being in an English tea-room we ordered scones and asked for clotted cream alongside which was not available. When we ordered them anyway and asked for butter alongside, we had the impression that the owner rolled his eyes on this request. The scones were very dry and tasted of flour. The young man who served was very friendly, however. But that wasn’t enough to give it...
