The Arto vivi is a family owned and run business with a lovely setting, a casual and friendly vibe and excellent food. The grilled chorizo and octopus may be the best we ever had and we have had them in many countries in Europe. Prices are very reasonable, especially given the quality of the food.
The restaurant is located away from the Promenade des Anglais so it is not filled with tourists and feels real. Many of the customers are regulars and are happy to chat with non-locals and share stories and more. The owner and her daughter are hardworking and lovely and the owner's niece, Marine, really keeps things moving and is super friendly and helpful with the menu and any language barriers. We were lucky enough to experience live music on a Friday night and Marine also plays a dual role by singing with the band. Her voice is amazing!!!

Read moreJust had a wonderful event at this restaurant. The owner/chef Salome was immediately welcoming, accommodating and flexible during planning a lunch for 21 at two long tables. She offered a Menu du Jour with an excellent starter salad, a choice of two entrees, (filet of fish or meat lasagna) coffee/tea. Many in our group said they...

The food was delicious, the beer was cold and even more amazing was the service by waitress/perhaps owner Salomé. And when she could see that my 12yr old daughter and 82yr old mother-in-law was overheating, she gave us her own cold towel to cool off. She and the other staff was just so kind. All smiles. Delicious food, and just a few minutes walk to the ferry...
