Friendly service, but inflexible on small accommodations
I visited this brewery three nights in a row while staying in Nice — the location is great, the atmosphere is lively, and the service was consistently friendly. On my first two visits, I simply ordered beer and enjoyed the experience enough to return a third time, considering dinner as well.
That night, I asked (in French) if it would be possible to order the double hamburger without the bun and barbecue sauce, as I follow a lower-carb diet and try to avoid sugar where I can. I also asked if I could have a side of butter instead. The waiter was polite, checked with the kitchen, and confirmed that this would be fine. I appreciated that and placed the order along with a glass of wine.
The burger arrived as requested, minus the bun and sauce, but without any butter. When I reminded the waiter, he brought me a single pad of butter, which I appreciated but quickly used. I asked if I could please have two more, and though he remained friendly, he told me it would not be possible.
To be clear, I respect that restaurants in France don’t always customize dishes the way they might in other countries. And I do appreciate that they removed the bun and sauce. But I was surprised that such a small, low-cost request — two more small portions of butter — was denied after I had been a returning customer. It left me feeling a bit unwelcome, despite the friendly demeanor of the staff.
In the end, the food was fine and the service kind, but this small refusal changed my impression of the place. I won’t be returning — not because of the butter itself, but because the gesture felt needlessly rigid toward a polite and...
Read moreToday we went to this place and ordered some fresh juices one of them had a bad taste so I asked the girl ( blonde girl not French) if it was possible to change it for another one or for the same one and she told me that it was not possible that we would be charged for the juice anyway and if we ordered another one we would have to pay for it, besides from the beginning she was not very nice to us instead of leaving us more time to decide the menu she was in a hurry for us to decide the juice we wanted and also of the juices that were available there was only one that could be ordered because the others were out so there was only one option (is what she said..) and also the juice was not good (strawberry and fruit rouges) and they charged us anyway so it was not nice from them. In case you want to drink good juices I recommend you to go right next door there is a place called “Le Paradise du Fruit” that makes very good natural juices and they are really kind...
Read moreMy friends and I thought we were getting a deal for what looked like a sizable breakfast, but instead the photos on the menu were very misleading, and we were served a very small portion of food, which did not look appetizing at all. I ordered the American Breakfast, and was served two tiny pancakes the size of my palm with Nutella and these nuts that were just not fresh at all. This came with a tiny glass ramekin of yogurt, honey, and granola which you could tell was not homemade at all. This place is supposed to be a cafe and they serve watery hot chocolate. My friend order a 'Mexican Lemonade,' which was literally cucumbers, lemon, and lime in water with absolutely no sugar. He ended up being charged 11 euros for this. There is a nice view, but when you feel like you are being profited off of it really takes away from...
