It was my 7th time in Nice and to choose MERCURE NICE PROMENADES DES ANGLAIS was my best choice! Perfect location where you find yourself in the marvelous view of the sea in front of you, each time you are in the room because your bed faces the balcony and you sleep and wake up with the sensation of being in a Cruiser! The room was very clean, with many white towels and sheets, the bed was very comfortable and the toilet, the shower and lavatory were in separate small rooms, really practical for the couple! They changed the towels and sheets e every day and provided us even with an ironing set in the room! The location of this hotel is perfect as the entrance is in Halevy street which is a pedestrian walkway full of nice bars and minimarkets where you can buy fruits and all beverages and this street leads to Massena Street and France street which are full of Restaurants and the heart of Nice, but also very near Old Port zone and all its tourist attractions! The staff of the Hotel is polite, responsive to your requests, advising good places to eat in local cuisine, especially Nicolaus who speaks a perfect English and shows you everything around! As a member of ALL - ACCOR LIVE LIMITLESS they gave us late checkout even though the Hotel was fully booked for tomorrow! We had the chance also to meet a very famous Italian actor staying with us at this Hotel, which confirms that this is one of the best places to stay in Nice, France!

Mercure Nice Boulevard des Anglais is situated in a strategic location near vieux nice, the overpass, the sea and Tram station. The hotel is composed of 3 floors. We had a garden and sea view room. The room is spacious compared to other hotels in town. It has main amenities plus a nespresso machine. The room is fine but need some refurbishing, the paint is tired. The air conditioning functions really well. The balcony is tight only fits to the width of one chair. We only had one chair in our room, it would have been nice to have two. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is spacious. The service is fine, the check in process was quick. I have checked in online before coming to the hotel but apparently this doesn’t work and we had to check in at the front desk. The front desk personnel were kind enough to give me a late check out until 1600. The only incident we had is that the hotel delivered items that I had ordered to the room although I had the ‘do not disturb sign ‘ as I was outside the hotel and dont like anyone to go in. The hotel personnel apologized for the incident.

I had a great stay here - the room, service and location were all great. The staff are so accommodating that they even accepted my request to postpone my stay after I couldn't arrive on the date I booked. Overall, the staff are friendly, polite and accommodating. The room was spotlessly clean, modern looking and my ocean-side room had the most BEAUTIFUL view! Even though the room was clean and modern, it didn't have that "wow" factor when I walked in (apart from the view). It was very clean and modern looking though, so that made up for it. The location is excellent - it's in the heart of everything. It's right on the corner of the main high street, with lots of restaurants and bars just seconds away (including a Hard Rock Cafe restaurant, a McDonald's and local restaurants/bars). The beach/ocean is just across the street. Overall, it was a great stay. I would definitely consider coming here again, mostly for the amazing view, location and great staff!

This was our sixth visit to this hotel and we’ve always chosen it for its excellent location and services. We always have a sea facing privilege room as we want to wake up in the morning and see the sea and palm trees. The room has a French balcony and is light and airy. Despite overlooking a busy main road the sound insulation is very good and to be honest the traffic noise adds to the ambient and hectic vibe of being right on the famous promenade. I am a light sleeper and was not bothered by this at all. |The hotel itself is not a looker like some on the promenade. The reception area whilst smart is basic for a four star. However the fact it is so close to the sea makes this acceptable. If you want something Negressco like then opt for one of the bigger , grander hotels. There is no dining room either- except for breakfast so eating out is required. There are so many restaurants within a couple of minutes so it really isn’t an issue. |The rooms (and I can only speak for privilege ones) are of a good standard. They are a good size with a big bed and plenty of storage. The room is very clean and serviced daily. There is a coffee machine and fridge stocked with soft drinks. We always buy a few beers to chill and have before heading out of an evening. Our room had a good shower and separate loo. The wash basin area was in the bedroom so no separate bathroom which was odd but worked. Good blackout curtain. The only let down was that although the room was clean and comfortable the storage unit for clothes was really beaten up and tatty. Some of the decor was really shoddy yet other bits were really good. It was however a great room complete with bathrobe and slippers and lovely honey toiletries. We stayed a week and were very comfortable. Also lots of pillow choice which was very impressive. |Breakfast was good. It was on the first floor and was a buffet. Served from 6.30 to 10.30 daily. There was all the continental stuff and lots of choice of cereals, juices and fruit. Lots of cheese and bread and pastries. You could fry your own egg too. The let down was the cooked breakfast which was limited to just three things a day. Always scrambled egg and then either farfale and chicken (!), sausages and potato cakes or bacon and beans- basically three cooked options. For us British who appreciate a full English it was very limited. However the staff were lovely and the breakfast choice was good and never ran out. Also you could have a variety of coffee from a machine so no waiting to be served coffee. |All in all I would recommend this hotel. It’s not grand, a bit shabby in places but location is great and the rooms are great for a...

Hotel Nice Promenade - Honest Feedback

I understand that perfection is not always attainable, and working in the service industry myself, I appreciate how important it is to meet and exceed guests’ expectations. I also know that sometimes, serving a wide range of clients requires extra patience and care, especially remembering that customers are paying for the services provided.

Unfortunately, my recent experience at Hotel Nice Promenade left me with a rather disappointing impression of the service offered. I would like to share some points, not as a complaint, but in the hope that feedback can lead to improvements:

I woke up at 6:00 AM for a business trip and needed a simple coffee with milk, but there were no milk sachets available in the room. I also needed an iron to prepare my shirts. I called reception to request these items. The response was very brief and somewhat unaccommodating: I was told I would have to wait until the restaurant opened to get milk myself, and that an iron could only be delivered after 9:00 AM. When I offered to pick up the iron myself, as I needed it before 8:00 AM, I was simply told, "Not possible."

The following day, the coffee pods in my room were not replenished, so I was unable to make a morning coffee. Given my previous experience, I chose not to call reception again.

Lastly, at check-out, I politely asked if it would be possible to have a one-hour late check-out due to business meetings. Once again, the answer was abrupt and firm: "Not possible." A more empathetic approach, such as offering luggage storage or a temporary room to freshen up, could have made a big difference in my experience.

I believe that small gestures and a thoughtful attitude can profoundly change a guest’s experience. While I enjoyed the beauty of Nice itself, I regret that my hotel stay did not reflect the warm hospitality one hopes for when traveling.

That being said, I will certainly return to Nice — though, unfortunately, I now know which hotel I would not choose for future visits.

Thank you, Nice, for the otherwise wonderful...
