This was our sixth visit to this hotel and we’ve always chosen it for its excellent location and services. We always have a sea facing privilege room as we want to wake up in the morning and see the sea and palm trees. The room has a French balcony and is light and airy. Despite overlooking a busy main road the sound insulation is very good and to be honest the traffic noise adds to the ambient and hectic vibe of being right on the famous promenade. I am a light sleeper and was not bothered by this at all. |The hotel itself is not a looker like some on the promenade. The reception area whilst smart is basic for a four star. However the fact it is so close to the sea makes this acceptable. If you want something Negressco like then opt for one of the bigger , grander hotels. There is no dining room either- except for breakfast so eating out is required. There are so many restaurants within a couple of minutes so it really isn’t an issue. |The rooms (and I can only speak for privilege ones) are of a good standard. They are a good size with a big bed and plenty of storage. The room is very clean and serviced daily. There is a coffee machine and fridge stocked with soft drinks. We always buy a few beers to chill and have before heading out of an evening. Our room had a good shower and separate loo. The wash basin area was in the bedroom so no separate bathroom which was odd but worked. Good blackout curtain. The only let down was that although the room was clean and comfortable the storage unit for clothes was really beaten up and tatty. Some of the decor was really shoddy yet other bits were really good. It was however a great room complete with bathrobe and slippers and lovely honey toiletries. We stayed a week and were very comfortable. Also lots of pillow choice which was very impressive. |Breakfast was good. It was on the first floor and was a buffet. Served from 6.30 to 10.30 daily. There was all the continental stuff and lots of choice of cereals, juices and fruit. Lots of cheese and bread and pastries. You could fry your own egg too. The let down was the cooked breakfast which was limited to just three things a day. Always scrambled egg and then either farfale and chicken (!), sausages and potato cakes or bacon and beans- basically three cooked options. For us British who appreciate a full English it was very limited. However the staff were lovely and the breakfast choice was good and never ran out. Also you could have a variety of coffee from a machine so no waiting to be served coffee. |All in all I would recommend this hotel. It’s not grand, a bit shabby in places but location is great and the rooms are great for a...

I understand that perfection is not always attainable, and working in the service industry myself, I appreciate how important it is to meet and exceed guests’ expectations. I also know that sometimes, serving a wide range of clients requires extra patience and care, especially remembering that customers are paying for the services provided.
Unfortunately, my recent experience at Hotel Nice Promenade left me with a rather disappointing impression of the service offered. I would like to share some points, not as a complaint, but in the hope that feedback can lead to improvements:
I woke up at 6:00 AM for a business trip and needed a simple coffee with milk, but there were no milk sachets available in the room. I also needed an iron to prepare my shirts. I called reception to request these items. The response was very brief and somewhat unaccommodating: I was told I would have to wait until the restaurant opened to get milk myself, and that an iron could only be delivered after 9:00 AM. When I offered to pick up the iron myself, as I needed it before 8:00 AM, I was simply told, "Not possible."
The following day, the coffee pods in my room were not replenished, so I was unable to make a morning coffee. Given my previous experience, I chose not to call reception again.
Lastly, at check-out, I politely asked if it would be possible to have a one-hour late check-out due to business meetings. Once again, the answer was abrupt and firm: "Not possible." A more empathetic approach, such as offering luggage storage or a temporary room to freshen up, could have made a big difference in my experience.
I believe that small gestures and a thoughtful attitude can profoundly change a guest’s experience. While I enjoyed the beauty of Nice itself, I regret that my hotel stay did not reflect the warm hospitality one hopes for when traveling.
That being said, I will certainly return to Nice — though, unfortunately, I now know which hotel I would not choose for future visits.
Thank you, Nice, for the otherwise wonderful...
