The employees were super kind, but the restaurant operating system and the food quality can be improved. ¡Overall it was nice!
I visited Ikko, 30min before it opened. While reading the reviews on google map, we found the reply from the restaurant that they do not accept the reservation. Well, apparently they do accept the reservation and we found it out after seeing a memo on the restaurant’s door. You can either call or visit on site for reservation. We waited more than one and a half hours.
Ramen - super good. The noodle was super nice. I was really impressed. Meat and egg were amazing. Unfortunately there is no Tonkotsu ramen. Broth was nice for me.
Karaage - very disappointed, but can be improved a lot. The batter was overcooked. I believe that is because the one piece of chicken is quite big as Karaage. I suppose, it somehow needed to be fried longer than it is supposed to be to make it fully cooked. Due to the size of the chicken, it wasn’t well brined as well. But it is my personal opinion so probably the others have different opinions.
Matcha Tiramisu- nice idea quite creative. Minor points. The cream was super creamy. Bitter and sweet. Perfect. There was some red bean paste as well. I liked it so much. There is a minor point that I want to mention. For me, if it is about a tiramisu, ladyfinger should melt in my mouth. The problem was that the cream wasn’t on the first layer but ladyfinger came first and very thin layer of cream and red bean paste was added. And then the second layer of ladyfinger with lots of cream. I think you can put a bit of cream on the first layer and then ladyfinger together with way more cream than now so that the ladyfinger can be more soft as ladyfinger was not dipped in the espresso cuz it is matcha tiramisu:)
Overall, really nice restaurant and food:) If you crave to eat ramen in Nice, I...
Read moreI am a San Francisco California Bay Area foodie who is spoiled with Asian food. I only go to our top ramen spots in the bay and I’ve been in Europe craving something authentic. To my surprise, this place just reopened- the owners luckily just got back from Japan! I thought it was closed because online hasn’t been updated yet but noticed the reviews early on and they were not lying!! I was headed to a Michelin starred place since it’s my last night but am so fortunate to have crossed place with IKKO and it was open! (Btw Michelin- check this restaurant out!!! 🌟) This is hands down some of the best and real ramen world wide. It does not just remind you of home or good ramen, it is truly GREAT ramen and the gyoza was bomb!! I got the shoya ramen and lamb gyoza too and it was superb!!! (It says spicy but they are pan fried and the spicy is in the sauce so you can control.) My prayers have been answers, I have tried Chinese, Thai, sushi in Nice now but IKKO hits so different! While the others were nice, this is real. I wish they were located in the states because the broth is truly amazing!! 🍜 I’d say I’m speechless but I’ve typed so much and haven’t written a single review in over a month in Europe… this truly wins and I am so glad I got to experience it. Please try it, you will be so very happy that you did! Hats off to the chef!! Absolutely the best! Also, great prices and amazing value- you can not replicate their authenticity, flavor or recipes,...
Read moreI visited Ikko Ramen on Wednesday February 5th around 20h, and we were very lucky to get a table relatively quickly, as there was a constant line of people waiting outside (thats how popular it is!) and rightfully so, because the food was absolutely delicious and we quickly understood why the restaurant was so busy. We were seated and served very quickly, with attentive professional wait staff who were very kind. After receiving my ramen (I ordered the Shoyu Ramen) I asked if I could have some soybean sprouts to add to it and they quickly brought me a little bowl of the sprouts - and I was never charged for this extra! Very very kind and absolutely amazing food, which in the end was not very expensive (considering ramen prices in major cities), my Shoyu Ramen was €13 and my partner said that the "Karamiso Ramen" he had (€15) was the best spicy ramen he had ever had, and has been searching for that kind of spice for some time. We both felt a lot better inside and out after our meal at Ikko, thank you for your great service and...
