We were group of 9 friends and we made a reservation for a set menu 60€ per person. It included a starter, “child portion” chicken as a main dish and then yogurt dessert. We were sitting on the blind corner without taking any drink order for 20 minutes. Impossible to find a server around or make a eye contact. The main chicken dish was tiny piece of chicken with bunch of tiny-tiny vegetables. It was a disaster. At some point I was so thirsty and sitting middle of the table also making impossible to go and find someone to ask for a water took me almost an hour. If you’re reading this don’t waste of your money and time here. The food is below average. Nice has a bunch of great restaurants like TYPE 55, where we all loved the food and the service. At the end of the dinner I tried to tell the person who was taking the payment, about our huge disappointment and he could care less, and was not even sorry to hear it. They just don’t care about what they are doing. It was a complete rip off. DO...
Read moreAbsolutely lovely meal and service. They have recently reopened after a full renovation. The menu is small but thoughtful in variety and is primarily seafood but there are beef, chicken and vegetarian options. I’m sure the menu changes often. The setting is quiet and indoor-outdoor and not formal or stuffy. Our server was very friendly, fluent in French and English and the pace was relaxed. Preparation and presentation of the food is exquisite! The flavors were delicate and balanced and each dish had that perfect combo of flavor profiles to make your whole mouth happy. The vegetable accompaniments were especially outstanding. The wine list is also (blissfully!) concise yet has solid options for pairing. Their locally produced house olive oil is amazing. A true gem of a restaurant and I felt very fairly priced for the standard of food. - just be sure to keep your eyes open for the very small sign...
Read moreLe Patio is a quiet oasis within the Hotel Laperouse on the shores of the beaches of Nice. The hotel itself has an almost non-descript entrance that is easy to miss if you are not paying attention and have the correct street address so beware.
But once you make you way (via elevators, hallways and stairs) you will be impressed by the serenity of the restaurant. Surrounded by walls covered in greenery on all sides, you do not have views of the water or the beach...but that is not necessarily a bad thing because there is a particular tranquility that calms you while eating. There is certainly no sense of rush.
The food is excellent. We ordered the Sea Bream Carpaccio, Crispy Vegetables with Hummus, Creamy Risotto, Roasted Monkfish and Lemon tart for dessert. Service was similarly excellent, with very attentive staff. It was a wonderful meal; equivalent to 5-star dinning! Definitely worth a...
