If you’re looking for a spot that’s bursting with good vibes, Loco Loco is THE PLACE. Honestly, we stumbled in expecting just a couple of drinks… and stumbled out floating on a cloud of happiness (and maybe a little bit of house infused rums).

The owner? An absolute legend. Not only did they treat us like long-lost friends, but they kept surprising us with drinks on the house — and chips, glorious chips! It felt like we were at a party we didn’t know we were invited to, but were instantly the guests of honor.

The ambience? Think cozy meets crazy-cool, with just the right amount of loco to make your night unforgettable. We laughed, we sipped, we munched, and we left with full hearts and fuller stomachs.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Loco Loco on my last night in Villefranche -- the moules were delicious, the wine was very good, and the owner and staff of the restaurant were incredibly hospitable (as I found in all restaurants in France, convivial hospitality is a consistent thing in this culture). Very tasty food and generous portions. Staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming despite the language barrier. Down to earth and human which is super welcome in this part of the world. Prices are significantly lower than surrounding restaurants. We came here at around 17:20 and the place was quite empty, but it filled up completely within a few minutes at 18:00 when the kitchen opened, so keep that in mind.
