Disappointing restaurant. Server was rude but we had already left another Moroccan restaurant because of an unfriendly waiter on our arrival and we wanted a change from French/Italian fare so we took our seats at the table. We had an aubergine salad to start. It was vaguely acceptable with some stale bread to accompany it. We love tagine and often cook our own version back home in England, fragrant, spicy, juicy, exotic stew basically very easy to make. It's delicious and so I ordered a house special lamb tagine and my wife chose their vegetarian tagine, thinking that a professional chef in a commercial restaurant would be able to produce something really special. Some stale plain, dry couscous arrived in a couple of bowls, each with 10 sultanas thrown on top. Then the tagines arrived, looking the part in the traditional ceramic tagine, sizzling hot. Good start. Neither dish had any flavouring at all and were both so dry it was an embarrassment. Basically, we paid €35 for 6 small potatoes, one which was inedible on my wife's plate due to black pest damage, 6 french beans, a carrot, 20 frozen peas, 2 pieces of lamb neck (90% bone) and 4 slices of preserved lemon. Couldn't...
Read moreDining at Casablanca in Menton was a true culinary escape to Morocco! From the moment we walked in, the aromas alone promised something special — and the food more than delivered.
I ordered the lamb tagine with tangerines, and it was absolutely divine. The lamb was incredibly tender, falling apart with the slightest touch, and the sweet citrus from the tangerine added such a beautiful balance to the rich, spiced sauce. It was comforting, fragrant, and full of depth — everything you hope a tagine will be.
My mom had the chicken couscous, which was equally impressive. The couscous was light and fluffy, perfectly paired with juicy, well-seasoned chicken and a generous helping of vegetables. Each bite was satisfying and soul-warming.
The setting is cozy and welcoming, and the service was kind and attentive. Casablanca truly brings Moroccan warmth and flavor to the Riviera — a...
Read moreThis restaurant is a disaster. I have been there last night, the service was horrendous, the server was very rude and unprofessional with unnecessary comments. The food quality was very low, I could even say it was inedible. their deserts were old, not sweet at all and dry. The setting is very ugly. Overall, this place is unhygienic and couldn't even be consider as a restaurant, I would recommend an health inspection. And to add to all of this, the pricing for what we were served isn't proportional at all (we paid over 200$ for something this bad). I do not recommend anyone to waste their time at such a horrible...
