We went to this restaurant without a reservation and were told to wait 30 minutes, which we were fine with. But after waiting that long, we noticed that a couple who arrived after us were given a table before us. When we asked, we were told to wait another 30 minutes!
Eventually, I ordered the “planche carnivore,” expecting mostly beef, but it turned out to be mainly pork and duck . The menu didn’t list the ingredients, and no one explained what was included. For a dish that cost €40, I couldn’t even eat it — the meat had a strong smell (like cow), and it was extremely tough, not tender at all.
The table next to us had burgers and didn’t seem happy with the quality either.
Overall, don’t be misled by the good reviews. This place was a total disappointment and a waste of money for beef. with half of this money you can have much much better food with view of the sea in la cyrnos restaurant.
your response really made it crystal clear who you are . Now I fully understand what other people meant in the comments about your rude waiter — they were definitely right
Let’s clear something up: a waiter doesn’t get to decide who’s “accepted” at a restaurant. Maybe take a course or two in basic customer service — just a suggestion!
As I already mentioned, the beef was tough, smelled bad, and was impossible to eat. But sure, go ahead and deny that too — luckily, other customers have eyes (and taste buds) and will figure it out for themselves.
And let’s talk about the food: it’s literally your job to explain what’s on the plate. If you can’t handle that one simple task, then honestly, what are you doing there?
Ohhh, so you cooked the meat — well that explains everything! I was honestly wondering how you managed to cook this disgusting food while doing laps around the restaurant, And let’s be real — if you really believed in the quality of your meat, you wouldn’t be so offended. You’d let people see for themselves what kind of trash you’re serving.
those 27 negative reviews?they’re all from local guides on Google. You know, real people who actually travel, eat in real restaurants, and know what food outside the village is supposed to taste like. Not invisible accounts or suspiciously glowing reviews that look more paid than earned.(500 comments not 1500!)
Congratulations! You’ve made a name for yourself… not for the food, not for the service, but for being the face of super rude...
Read moreI hardly ever write bad reviews, but my experience at this restaurant really left a bad taste in my mouth.
Came across this restaurant on a hot day, we had just come from the train station and had a bottle of water we were walking around the city with. Sat down at this restaurant, and we each ordered a burger and a pitcher of sangria to share (so it’s not like we cheaped out on drinks). I don’t think either of us even took a sip of the bottle we were carrying with us.
Restaurant was busy so we were patient, service was good, burgers were decent- I asked for the sauce on the side but still received it on there.. which was fine, no big deal, was going to leave a nice tip. However when it came time to pay the server had added on 6 euros for water. We explained we never received or ordered any water, after which the server became very hostile and aggressive and said that we had brought our own water (that was just simply sitting next to us and didn’t even touch) so there was an extra charge and we were “idiots” for not noticing this on the menu (based on the picture of the menu it is not stated anywhere). Apparently this is the “price of doing business”. No other restaurant in France in 2 weeks had done this and even spoke to several other French servers during our visit who laughed at the ridiculousness. If we had ordered tap water along with our sangria, which is required to be free by law, would we still have been charged the 6 euros? I work in the hospitality industry myself and couldn’t ever imagine pulling this stunt on paying customers. Would recommend avoiding this restaurant and its hostile staff...
