Restaurant Pho 38 (Nice) — Restaurant in Nice

We’ve been visited Nice from the USA many times and after a few weeks we start craving pho and Vietnamese food. This place is as close as you can get to the real thing. Their pho broth is tasty, they use the wider noodles and fresh cuts of meat. I was pleasantly surprised that they carried bún bò Huế on the menu so I ordered it. Again it was a good replica of what you can get back home. I know it’s rough getting some of the ingredients here in France like giò chả, but they came so close. The broth was great and they used Ớt satế which gave it that spicy zing. The Rouleau de printemps (spring rolls) tasted on point, and in France they only serve spring rolls with nước mắm not tường for dipping sauce. Anyhow, I recommend this place! It’s charming, the owners are authentically Vietnamese. We ate in and during that hour or so there must’ve been a constant stream of 6-10 online pickup guys coming to grab orders to deliver so you know this place makes good food when people are ordering...

Ordered Pho Duc Biet tonight for €12. The flavours of the soup was good. Meat certainly raw and perfect for the dish. The major let down was the noodles. These were rehydrated noodles, not fresh. Parts of the noodles was still a bit chewy and hard. I felt a little ripped off compared to just the plain Pho Tai for €11. The Pho Duc Biet contained only 2 part pieces of a single beef ball and certainly didn’t justify the extra pricing. Also asked for fresh chilli, this request was met. But it was frozen fresh chilli. All in all it wasn’t a bad meal. Just needed some refinement in the dish. I finished my meal pretty quickly and was still hungry, I actually wanted to order another dish. As a international vietnamese student, after 1 year studying abroad, i just meet the taste my home country here. We order 1 Pho with the well beef and 1 beef Luc Lac. Both of them are very great and delicious and expecially Vietnamese tatse. Firstly, for Pho with the well beef, the beef is very well cook, it retains the sweetness of the meat and is very tender, the soup is good as well even if we come here for dinner, the soup is still fresh. But the spotlight of this meal is taken by beef Luc Lac which very very very well cooked, its taste is so so good when you eat with rice, It is very fragrant and stimulates the taste buds.
