I was extremely excited to visit Seen. I was a little iffy given the reviews, but tried not to pay attention to them, especially since I had heard so many great things about the atmosphere from a concierge at a previous hotel. We were seated quickly since we had a reservation, our waiter (I believe his name was Marco?) was amazing - very attentive and kind. My husband and I wanted a light meal with drinks to take in the sunset and the view of the water. We ordered the crab and vegetable roll, it was okay but bland. We then ordered 2 Negronis. In the summer, my husband and I have gotten into the habit of doing the smallest splash of soda water into our Negronis to lighten it up. We ordered this and our waiter walked away. A few minutes later the head barman came over in a huff telling us he would not make our drink, explaining how Negronis are made, the ratio of the different ingredients, and that we should order something else. His demeanor was very rude and condescending. My husband and I got married in Italy, we know how a Negroni is made. After all his huffing, we ordered the Negroni as is, no additions. He then had the audacity after making his scene, to send us a bottle of soda water with our Negronis (to which we sent back and did not add to our drink). In all of my years of going to bars, especially at a 5 star hotel, I have never been talked to this rudely. He could have handle the situation so much better, simply by saying "adding soda water can water down the drink I don't recommend making it as such but if you'd like I will". The worst part in all of this, the Negroni was also poorly made and tasted watered down. Overall, this ruined the entire mood and we left quickly after paying our bill. Would not recommend this rooftop to anyone.

I was really excited for this restaurant to be my final dinner while in Nice. After a week long stay, this restaurant had the most pretentious male maitre'd in a suit which completely ruined our experience. Service: We were sitting near the windows and asked to be relocated due to the severe smell of cigarette smoke coming off of the balcony. When we asked them to close they door they said they couldn't. When we asked to be moved, they said we had to wait for someone else to move (the restaurant was half empty and it was already past 10pm). We waited for about 30 minutes to be relocated and still nothing. The maitre'd that seated us didn't want us to move. We ended up asking someone else to move us and we had to move our own drinks to a table that had been sitting empty since we arrived (60 minutes prior). Food: The octopus carpaccio was ok. It lacked acid and salt which we added separately ourselves. There was this salmon sushi with a truffle and quail egg on top that was the star ⭐ of the evening. The truffle pasta was wonderful. The pasta was al dente and you could taste the truffle! The wagu bavette was over cooked, as we asked for it to be rare. It was medium rare at best. After the seating fiasco, we were just ready to get out of there. This experience was super frustrating considering we spent over 250€ for a meal and they made us feel UN-Seen and unheard. The menu did clearly identify what foods contained allergens which was greatly appreciated.

Great views! But another French restaurant that uses their handicap of an awesome view to mask their poor service and food. Pricing was insane for what you received. Service was as slow as they all say. I read the reviews before coming and had some fun by timing between each waiter interaction. We got seated immediately. 8 minutes later was when we were able to order drinks. Those arrived 15 minutes later. I made sure to instantly order our food as I’m pretty sure they would have taken another 10+ to come back around. Our food took 30 minutes to arrive (appetizers) and our main courses took another 45 to arrive. Make sure you flag down a waiter as they will not come to you themselves. Now here’s the fun part: the taste! You will need to use that salt and pepper on your table. We ordered the Gyoza and the Seen Egg for appetizers. The gyoza was tender and well cooked but it was as seasoned as cardboard was. The egg was the same. The rocks on the beach likely had more flavor! To finish we shared the 110 euro Seen Lobster pasta. It included 4 scallops and the smallest lobster tail, and enough pasta to feed the French Revolution. This was better seasoned, but the flavor tasted of old, dead seafood. It’s rare for me to tear up a restaurant (check my other reviews) but if you go here, just buy drinks and enjoy the view. It may take a while to get them, but at least you can enjoy the view while you wait.

I have visited SEEN a few times with friends and family as I usually have a great experience at the restaurant. I also always encourage others to eat there when they are in Nice but unfortunately our experience at the restaurant recently was incredibly disappointing. I made a reservation well in advance for my husband’s birthday. We invited our parents from the Netherlands to join us for dinner at the restaurant to celebrate this special occasion. We chose to sit inside the restaurant as it was quite windy outside. Inside the music was so loud and so it was difficult to hear each other speak. When informing the manager, he kindly turned the music softer but unfortunately, that did not last very long before the music was turned up again. I love a great atmosphere but when it’s challenging to hear one another it can become quite frustrating.

Secondly, the food did not arrive at the same time and one of the side dishes for the meat main dish had been forgotten. The meat was also cold and the wine had to be ordered twice as it was not remembered the first time. We were served by several different waiters throughout the evening, which made the service feel disjointed. We were planning on staying for dessert but since nobody at the table was enjoying their time at the restaurant we decided to leave instead. This experience was super unfortunate considering this was the first time our parents visited the restaurant and everyone was really looking forward to the experience. It was also sad that this was the experience that my husband had on his birthday. The amount of money spent versus the quality of food and service is extremely...
