First things first, the menus from outside and actual menu is different. I came here specifically for salmon with goat cheese and veggies, but in reality I’ve had no cheese. As a cheese lover, I was really upset about that.

Secondly, the food was plain, barely had any taste and was dry. A few drops of sauce is miserable move and also no help. We had to use salt to save the dish, em, really?

Third, the service… was there any? We were seated at the dirty table. Then when I was ordering, mid of my speech the waiter grabbed my menu making me lost and ask my friend to remind what we wanted to order. Then, when we asked for the bill, we waited over 20 minutes to get our payments. We had places to go and things to do, but after asking 2 waiters to get us a card machine, being completely ignored, we had to make a move, so we just got up and went to the waiter’s station. One of the waiters was really rude saying: “just sit down, he’ll take your payment.” But we already waited for so long, even after that we were still ignored, standing mid way, waiting. Is that the real service you wanna provide to your clients? The guy in black came to us, probably manager, and finally took the payment. First move done, great. Then the payment didn’t go through for some reasons and then he called another waiter who spoke better English or just didn’t wanna deal with us, cuz manager’s was not that bad. I don’t know, but the waiter was great and nice. But the last 2 minutes talking to this nice waiter didn’t save the awful experience in here, wish he was our waiter.

Won’t recommend to anyone....

Friday lunch review. In short, strongly suggest you go somewhere else.

On arrival they did not give us all the menus they were willing to serve and which were shown at the entrance, only the menu with full main dishes on. Eventually found the other menus ourselves on other tables. We were sat Al fresco. Ordered Croque Madame and Crêpe Royale.

The crêpe arrived broken, which they seemed to try and disguise by throwing salad on it. The croque was okay, but the salad with it was not dressed (unlike with the crêpe), and the fries were below average.

They had a smattering of customers, which largely seemed to be served by one waiter, maybe one other. There seemed to be other staff hanging around and doing less. Considering the low volume of customers we were surprised that service wasn't better, but the individual serving us was not to blame since he was kept busy.

Unfortunately, the worst thing about this place is hygiene. There are two cubicles (one male, one female) sharing a communal sink. Both toilets were infested with flies - not just one or two, like 50-100. Nonetheless, when my wife went to the bathroom, she observed the maitre d leaving the cubicle and not washing his hands. He hands out all the menus. Then, having had no further meals, my wife and I became ill later in the afternoon and both spent time in our hotel bathroom that night because of the meal.

I can not in good faith recommend this restaurant. Please...

Probably the worst service I've ever had. Mediocre food. Payment terminal doesn't work.

I got only 5 overcooked shrimp (for 25 EUR). Salmon fillet was extremely thin and overcooked. Pizza from kids menu was worse than frozen pizza.

When I asked asked for receipt and said I want to pay I heard "2 minutes". Some 15 minutes later (we asked the waitress for receipt a couple more times and heard "one moment" each time) waitress came back with payment terminal. She wouldn't show me amount she entered on the terminal. When I asked she took my card from me. Then she said payment was denied. I asked for confirmation. She refused to give it to me, crumpled it.I asked a few times more and finally she gave it to me. Then another waiter came with another terminal, which also didn't work (at least this waiter was polite, showed me what he was doing with the terminal).

(The card was accepted with no problems in other restaurants and shops before and after visit in this...

My partner and I fancied a seafood platter and Le Magenta had a few to choose from. We went for the €75 option, which had crab, prawns, oysters, welks on ice and served with lemon, lime, vinaigrette, and a mayo/seafood sauce. Came out fairly quickly which was good and the crab and prawns were delicious on their own. We weren't so keen on the large oysters (small ones were about the right size for us) and the welks, but it's the first time we have had them properly so it was an experience at least. For dessert I had tarte tatin which was again a first for me, served with cream which was really delicious and rounded off the salt from the seafood platter with something sweet.

Interesting mix of reviews here but I think the middling positive ones are the most accurate - having been here twice. Both times we sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere and generally good service. Orders were taken speedily and delivered within a reasonable amount of time. Only once - when the place was particularly busy - did we have to keep nudging the waiter for our food. The food - to use my favourite phrase - was good solid brasserie fare. The frites were very good - everything else was an enjoyable and acceptable standard. Certainly what we ordered did not come as small portions as suggested in some reviews.
