Skender Kebab — Restaurant in Nice

I have been to this place several times and normally they have decent service. I was there with my family and the waitress heard us speaking English prior to ordering. I ordered an apple juice in French (I have a slight accent), so it’s quite easy to understand the request, but the waitress felt the need to repeat the SAME thing I said as if she had no clue what I said, then she repeated exactly what I said in a condescending manner with her French accent. In a few minutes there was another English speaking customer, which she assisted in english. So this proved that she could’ve just asked me in English if she had no clue what I said or she could’ve just asked me again in French in a kindly manner without trying to embarrass me. I have lived in France long enough to know that it’s a very common thing with bad service in France to act as if they do not understand an English speaking persons accent when they speak French. I gave the shop keeper 10 euros. He did not give me any change back, even though the price was 8 euros. I know that he tried to trick me, because he opened the cash drawer when he noticed that i was surprised, but because i did not say anything, he closed the drawer again. I looked the price up in the menu, only then he gave me the change back without any apology.

The salad was without any dressing. I did not think of it and found out at home. I think it is quite possible that he did it on purpose.

This delicious hole-in-the-wall Turkish restaurant has really good kebab sandwiches and moussaka. That is all we tried but the sandwiches are our daily lunch we bring to the beach. The pita is wafer thin and the pink sauce is perfectly spicy. At 5 euros it is the deal of the town. Don't expect fancy, this is not that kind of place.
