Verdant — Restaurant in Nice

Really disappointed with the experience here this morning. We arrived just before 12pm. I had to go inside to ask about seating. We sat outside waiting to be acknowledged or even to be given a menu and recieved nothing. I went in to ask and I was told it would be 20mins until I could order. I waited 30mins and still nothing. I went back in and I was told that there was still going to be a wait and they were busy. We can understand a place being busy and we waited for a long time to give the time needed for this. However, its the lack of acknowledgement and understanding that we have been waiting a long time without anybody coming to us to apologise or even offer a menu or water. It was such a bad experience. We had to leave due to this. Four other people that arrived at the same time as us, that sat outside also just left, due to the lack of acknowledgement.

We arrived at approx. 11:50am. We sat in the outside seating area, as the air-conditioning inside was not working correctly. After waiting about 10mins at 12:00pm I asked could we order food. I was told it would be a 20mins wait. I said okay and waited again. I gave until 12:30pm, an extra 10mins, so 30mins overall, before going in to ask could we order or get menus, an acknowledgement for the wait, water, anything. The response I received was disappointing to the point that I had to just leave. There was no apology, no understanding, nothing. The four people that left just before us, at 12:25pm, did not receive acknowledgement either, they, just, left. They were waiting to order and in the end, just left, did not enter into the indoor seating area. Left due to the lack of acknowledgement from staff.

It is extremely disappointing that still there is no acknowledgement or apology in the Verdants reply or for the lack of respect for people's time or understanding for the patience we had that morning. It seems the good reviews you receive are at times when it is empty with a few customers. Maybe for busy times or busy Sundays, where there is still available seating for customers without reservations, there should be more staff to deal with that influx...

Place wasn’t too busy a lot of empty tables for Sunday brunch but we waited about 30 minutes to order. About 15 min in we tried to put order an order in with the waitress who’s looked at us, but kept walking. We waited another 15 minutes to see if she would return but she just kept ignoring us. It looked like the other 4 tables were also waiting to order, to pay, or to get food. We ended up walking out. This is our 4th time in Nice and this experience was not normal. The food here is the worst I’ve ever had in Nice. With many options in the city, I would absolutely avoid this place by all means. We ordered Caesar salad which was just drenched in sauce, very low quality hard pieces of chicken and just extremely bad! I ordered a club sandwich also which had the same exact pieces of chicken in it as the Cesar salad! Chunky, dry and tasteless. The toasts were also severely burnt which gave the sandwich a bitter taste on top of everything...
