The best meal, I had in France! I had the set menu or menu decouverter and it was sensational value at €41. The amuse bouche was a little slice of savoury cake, lightly spiced and baked with cheddar, olives and tomato. I’m sure the owners will forgive me getting one or two ingredients wrong because I will make up for it with my enthusiasm.
The starter was a pavé of foie gras in a light-as-air flan, surrounded by a velvety soft butternut veloute. There was a delicately spiced crumb on top, reminiscent of speculoos or biscoff that provided a textural counterpoint to all the smooth richness.
The fish course was poached turbot in a beautiful beurre blanc with browned barley grains still retaining their bite and samphire and sautéed fennel. Again, excellent. Of the wines offered by the glass, I ordered the lighter, flintier of the two white offerings and it was perfect with the fish.
The meat course was a rare piece of fillet; demi glacé, a slice of fried apple, the stem of a ceps and a buttery root veg mash and it was accompanied by a Grenache and Syrah led blend from the Languedoc.
Last but not least was the dessert which was a symphony of tropical flavours. Mango parfait, pineapple, dragonfruit, granadilla and dark chocolate combining to perfectly round off the meal.
Many thanks to the staff who accommodated my terrible attempts at French and made me feel...
Read moreI’m falling head over heels for this lovely restaurant. Tucked away in a nice quiet part of the street with little to no cars driving by, Maezaly is a local gem serving some of the best food at affordable prices. I have been back here consecutively for 2 straight days, lunch and dinner.
For dinner, I went for the daily menu which consists of a starter, mains and dessert. They were all beautifully prepared and all the ingredients came together perfectly.
Lunch was just as exquisite, I had a simple salad as a start, 2 mains and a coffee to complete the meal.
Marvellous meal and experience. The service was impeccable and the server speak good English as well.
This will now and always be my go to restaurant whenever I...

Next to the Chateau of Vincennes is this little bistro. I walked by the restaurant and the diner sitting at the terrace said it was a superb one. Then I decided to give it a go.
The food was ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. The appetiser was very fresh and well balanced, the mozzarella cheese was creamy and rich, while the cucumber crème and the acidity gave it a lightness so you can’t stop devouring this entree.
The plat was even more exceptional. The cream sauce was fragrant with tossed mushroom and caramelised onion. It went super well with the shell pasta that could be a vehicle to hold the sauce for one single bite. The pork was tender and juicy.
All in all,...
