It's refreshing to witness a team that has mastered the art of communication within their ranks and extended it effortlessly to their clientele. This level of professionalism speaks volumes about their team spirit and eagerness to render flawless service, not primarily for monetary gains but fueled by an intrinsic love for what they do.

The effort invested by the Ama team is brilliantly evidenced in their food. The Mediterranean cuisine served here is anything but ordinary. Whether it's the tantalizing flavors that play a symphony on your taste buds, or the aesthetic presentation that appeals to the eyes, the gastronomical endeavor here certainly takes Mediterranean food to an exquisite level.

However, no words nor praises can do justice to the entire culinary journey offered by Ama. You have to be there, be a part of their world for an evening, and immerse yourself in the symphony of tastes and experiences that Ama faithfully delivers every single day. So, why wait? We arrived for our booking on time and had to stand at the entrance for 20 minutes until the staff had gotten to clear our table. They were very busy and also seemed totally disintereted when we arrived.

We went upstairs which was unbearably hot. 2 of us got very uncomfortable ottoman seats which were very short. We were not given menus or offered water when we were sat down.

At several points throughout the night we asked for menus, bread, water and chairs and it took asking 2-3 different times for staff to bother to help.

We ordered 6 mezze dishes to share, they were very small and they were ok. The prawns were not seasoned and the sauce for the Bao was way too strong. The dessert portion was also tiny.

Staff didn’t go upstairs often and when they did they were too occupied with the other side of the room to notice. Usually took 2-3 efforts of signalling servers before they would come over, and even then they usually didn’t even get us what we asked for.

Service was very slow.

Now this would be fine if it was for a regular-priced mezze bar. However the pricing here is more than double what I’d say the venue is worth, particularly given the small portions. It’s stylish inside but staff are clearly either too disientested or too busy to do be of service.

Next time I’ll save my money and go to any of the other mezze places (which are cheaper, tastier and more copious) on Rue Bichat.

Par où commencer…

Nous sommes des voisins du restaurant depuis plus de 3 ans et la décoration du restaurant a attiré notre regard. Nous avons donc naturellement pensé à organiser notre repas de mariage là-bas. Il aurait mieux fallu que cette idée n’ait jamais traversé notre esprit…

Première prise de contact par mail au mois de juin pour un mariage fin octobre. Première réponse au bout de 2/3 semaines pour nous transmettre un devis qui s’est plus tard avéré mensonger. Nous demandons une visite au restaurant afin de goûter les plats et choisir. Nous n’aurons aucune réponse avant le mois… d’août ! Après de nombreuses relances par téléphone et par mail. Cela aurait déjà dû nous alerter sur le niveau de professionnalisme des gérants du restaurant. Nous tenions absolument à participer à la vie de notre quartier et à la visibilité du restaurant en y organisant notre mariage, nous avons donc insisté. Nous sommes allés au restaurant à 2 reprises pour y rencontrer la personne en charge des évènements. Encore une fois, pour le rencontrer, nous avons eu des informations erronées et cela a été compliqué. Nous avons enfin réussi après plus de 2 mois à faire une dégustation de plats avec notre témoin. Nous y sommes allés avec le premier et seul devis que nous avions, nous avons discuté au Rez de chaussée du restaurant, nous nous sommes projetés sur la décoration, la mise en place des tables… lorsque j’ai fait part à la personne en charge de l’organisation que nous n’étions pas rassurés au vu du manque de communication , elle nous a assuré que nous n’avions plus à stresser… que des paroles ! Nous avons fait part des ajustements au niveau des plats au gérant par mail et nous apprenons alors, à un mois et demi de notre mariage, que nous sommes en train d’être ARNAQUÉS. En effet, sur les deux devis envoyés, il était inscrit « privatisation EXCLUSIVE totale ou partielle du temple Ama ». À quel moment une privatisation peut être exclusive tout en étant totale ou partielle ? Il y a clairement eu une volonté de nous tromper, surtout lorsque la personne en charge de l’organisation ne nous fait même pas visiter une seule fois la mezzanine, lieu où il y a des tables basses et que le gérant nous réservait pour notre mariage… tout en nous expliquant qu’il ne pouvait se permettre de perdre de la clientèle un samedi en privatisant totalement le restaurant pour notre événement ! Le summum de l’irrespect a été atteint lorsque cette personne nous a indiqué qu’il « savait que nous n’avions pas le budget pour réserver le restaurant dans sa totalité ». Alors que nous n’avions jamais abordé la question de notre budget !

Nous passons devant ce restaurant chaque soir. Même la petite pizzeria à côté fait plus de couverts que eux sur plusieurs jours ! Ils ont simplement voulu nous coincer à un mois de notre mariage afin de se faire leur chiffre d’affaire sur nous.

Au vu des autres commentaires, nous n’avons aucun regret. D’ailleurs, le gérant lui même se permet de laisser un avis sur son propre restaurant …Cela montre à quel point ils sont malhonnêtes et en difficulté.

Bien heureusement pour nous, nous avons trouvé la perle rare, en plein cœur de Paris et ils ont su organiser un merveilleux repas de mariage en moins d’un mois !

D’autres restaurants méritent plus de visibilité dans le quartier ! Ne perdez pas votre temps et votre argent ! J’espère que ce restaurant sera un jour repris par des gérants honnêtes qui sauront en faire un lieu incontournable...
