I recently dined at Au P'tit Curieux, and it was a charming experience that perfectly embodies the warmth of a cozy neighborhood bistro. This restaurant offers a delightful mix of traditional French cuisine with a personal touch, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed meal.

Ambiance: The ambiance at Au P'tit Curieux is inviting and homely, with rustic decor and a friendly atmosphere. The interior is filled with quirky decorations and comfortable seating, creating a laid-back environment that feels like a hidden gem in the heart of the city.

Service: The service was exceptional, with the staff being warm and attentive. They were eager to share their recommendations and ensure that every guest felt welcomed. The genuine hospitality added to the overall charm of the dining experience.

Cuisine: The menu features a range of classic French dishes, all made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I started with a delicious pâté, which was rich and flavorful, served with a side of pickles that complemented it perfectly.

For the main course, I opted for a hearty coq au vin. It was beautifully prepared, with tender chicken stewed in a rich red wine sauce, accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables. Each bite was a comforting reminder of traditional French home cooking.

Dessert: I couldn’t resist trying the homemade tart, which was a delightful end to the meal. It was light and refreshing, showcasing seasonal fruits and a buttery crust.

Overall Experience: My visit to Au P'tit Curieux was thoroughly enjoyable. The combination of a cozy ambiance, friendly service, and delicious food makes it a standout choice for anyone looking to savor authentic French cuisine. I highly recommend this charming bistro and look forward to returning for another...

Recently, my mother and I ate at Au P'tit Curieux and it was with much joy to write this review.

Having visited Paris several times, this is one the most, if not, the most memorable dinner experiences we’ve had togther.

It’s very rare to come across restaurants, that have this all encompassing quality to them.

Whether its from the ambience, to the music, to the heart warming exchanges/ welcoming gestures, and of course the freshly made/ thoughtfully considered ingredients of both food and drinks.

It’s very clear that the owner, Selim, passion for his restaurant is unmatched, and shines through with every aspect of the restaurant, wholeheartedly.

My mother and I don’t have similar food preferences . And I feel quite guilty for having dietary concerns, especially while I’m in one of the most amazing cities for food in the world. But the restaurant was more than accommodating.

The generosity and kindness of one of the hostess, Nastassia, made sure to let us know the personal backstory behind the process of how the olive oil was made. Which, came from her own ancestral lineage.

It’s this quality sharing, and humanity that is missing a lot of experiences at restaurants we’ve visited in our travels. Au P'tit Curieux, however embodies this quality humanity effortlessly.

It’s having beautiful moments like this that that will be etched in your memory and sets the standard for how other restaurant experiences should follow.

Please, do not miss the opportunity to eat here. This is the type of restaurant you’ll remember for...

This is a difficult review to write. The atmosphere at the P’tit Curieux is wonderfully relaxed and cozy. It offers the perfect setting for a romantic evening. The decor is so unique, creative, yet elegant, with comfortable seating and great lighting. The playlist playing in the background is perfectly curated. The service was very welcoming, friendly, patient and attentive. It could be described as authentic and unpretentious fine dining. So far, so perfect.

I want to believe that it was an off day for the kitchen. First we wanted to order Guinea fowl, since this was a dish indicated on the menu on the website. At the restaurant we come to find out there was a different current menu. We both ended up picking the duck. My husband orders a glass of wine that pairs well for the duck. Time passes and we get informed there is no more duck and we have to choose something else. While we were looking forward to the duck, all of this can of course be understood and overlooked. We end up ordering the lamb and the salmon.

My husband’s lamb was chewy and fatty and came with overcooked vegetables. My salmon was nothing to write home about either. The sauce that it came with seemed like it contained high sodium and did not sit well with my stomach for the rest of the evening. The best thing was the bread that you get on the side and my husband enjoyed his wine. Overall I have to say that the quality of the cooking was subpar and despite all the many other much appreciated positives we left with a feeling of...

Mon. Dieu. My French is passable but I simply have to do this review in English so that I can use the superlative vocabulary that this place deserves. Hidden on a back street, this unassuming storefront leads you into a cozy, bright, and beautifully adorned dining room. The ceiling (and as I later found out the doors to the bathroom) feature original artwork from Luc Francois Granier. We were guided to chose between two different tables but of course we had to chose the one in the shape of an artist's pallette. The man who met us at the door turned out to be the proprietor of the restaurant. This man was the most genial, welcoming, and warm person I have experienced in the Paris fine dining scene. He offered us a Christmas toast of some bubbly while we decided on what we wanted eat. We decided to split three entrees: the veloute, the oysters, and the salmon gravlax. Every singe one was stunningly presented, perfectly balanced, and utterly delicious. I went with the Lamb as my Plat while my partner got the beef, and our friends got the duck breast and risotto. Again every bite was well thought out and delicious. The wine list was well curated from independent wine owners and rather than choosing ourselves we allowed our host to choose for us. Everything was delightful. I have had Michelin level experiences all over the United States and this place is easily deserving of at least a star in any of those markets. I cannot thank Selim enough for an incredible final night in Paris.

I wanted to treat my fiancé to a good Christmas Day dinner in Paris. I had a reservation at 9:30 PM. We ended up coming a little early at 8:30 PM and found the neighborhood to be dodgy and kind of sketchy. We felt unsafe for a bit and went into the restaurant to check in with the host and ask for recommendations on nearby bars or cafes or if we could dine earlier than our reservation. The host and I think he was the owner was absolutely unhelpful and refused to even suggest anything nearby saying “I don’t know what you like”. We came back after an hour and were waiting to be seated while he was talking to an Asian customer about the menu. I think they were confused about their order and were clarifying something with him. He came to us and said in a frustrated manner “These Chinese people are so confused with menu, I’ll be with you in second” which was uncalled for and showed me the nature of the establishment. Truthfully, I felt scared to ask him for recommendations because I just got the feeling he did not want to help inspite us paying for a service. We just ordered whatever was recommended via Google reviews. The food on the other hand was incredible but if you don’t speak French or are not French, I am not sure if the atmosphere or hospitality is the best in Paris which is now a multicultural melting pot to the owners disdain.

***ORDER THE LIME CHEESECAKE!! (cheesecake citron) *** Entrées were okay- we honestly expected better for the lamb and steak. The lamb was cold in some of the places but good in some of the other bites. Same with the steak. Inconsistent cooking throughout the entire ribeye. Very hard to cut through. Would recommend restaurant to sharpen their knives. The dessert though BLEW US AWAY!!! We had just recently eaten at Epicure (a 3 star Michelin restaurant) and the lime cheesecake at this place was on par or even better than the dessert epicure served depending on preferences. The crème brûlée was also very good, but the only thing is the crème was slightly inconsistent throughout. Some bites were mouthwatering and incredible while others were average. Overall, it was decent for a last minute dinner. We booked it online prior. We were seated in a weird area of the restaurant thus did not get to enjoy the ambiance compared to others as much. The organic Rasteau wine was very good.
