I recently dined at Au P'tit Curieux, and it was a charming experience that perfectly embodies the warmth of a cozy neighborhood bistro. This restaurant offers a delightful mix of traditional French cuisine with a personal touch, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed meal.
Ambiance: The ambiance at Au P'tit Curieux is inviting and homely, with rustic decor and a friendly atmosphere. The interior is filled with quirky decorations and comfortable seating, creating a laid-back environment that feels like a hidden gem in the heart of the city.
Service: The service was exceptional, with the staff being warm and attentive. They were eager to share their recommendations and ensure that every guest felt welcomed. The genuine hospitality added to the overall charm of the dining experience.
Cuisine: The menu features a range of classic French dishes, all made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I started with a delicious pâté, which was rich and flavorful, served with a side of pickles that complemented it perfectly.
For the main course, I opted for a hearty coq au vin. It was beautifully prepared, with tender chicken stewed in a rich red wine sauce, accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables. Each bite was a comforting reminder of traditional French home cooking.
Dessert: I couldn’t resist trying the homemade tart, which was a delightful end to the meal. It was light and refreshing, showcasing seasonal fruits and a buttery crust.
Overall Experience: My visit to Au P'tit Curieux was thoroughly enjoyable. The combination of a cozy ambiance, friendly service, and delicious food makes it a standout choice for anyone looking to savor authentic French cuisine. Read moreRecently, my mother and I ate at Au P'tit Curieux and it was with much joy to write this review.
Having visited Paris several times, this is one the most, if not, the most memorable dinner experiences we’ve had togther.
It’s very rare to come across restaurants, that have this all encompassing quality to them.
Whether its from the ambience, to the music, to the heart warming exchanges/ welcoming gestures, and of course the freshly made/ thoughtfully considered ingredients of both food and drinks.
It’s very clear that the owner, Selim, passion for his restaurant is unmatched, and shines through with every aspect of the restaurant, wholeheartedly.
My mother and I don’t have similar food preferences . And I feel quite guilty for having dietary concerns, especially while I’m in one of the most amazing cities for food in the world. But the restaurant was more than accommodating.
The generosity and kindness of one of the hostess, Nastassia, made sure to let us know the personal backstory behind the process of how the olive oil was made. Which, came from her own ancestral lineage.
It’s this quality sharing, and humanity that is missing a lot of experiences at restaurants we’ve visited in our travels. Au P'tit Curieux, however embodies this quality humanity effortlessly.
It’s having beautiful moments like this that that will be etched in your memory and sets the standard for how other restaurant experiences should follow.
Please, do not miss the opportunity to eat here. This is the type of restaurant you’ll remember for...
Read moreThis is a difficult review to write. The atmosphere at the P’tit Curieux is wonderfully relaxed and cozy. It offers the perfect setting for a romantic evening. The decor is so unique, creative, yet elegant, with comfortable seating and great lighting. The playlist playing in the background is perfectly curated. The service was very welcoming, friendly, patient and attentive. It could be described as authentic and unpretentious fine dining. So far, so perfect.
I want to believe that it was an off day for the kitchen. First we wanted to order Guinea fowl, since this was a dish indicated on the menu on the website. At the restaurant we come to find out there was a different current menu. We both ended up picking the duck. My husband orders a glass of wine that pairs well for the duck. Time passes and we get informed there is no more duck and we have to choose something else. While we were looking forward to the duck, all of this can of course be understood and overlooked. We end up ordering the lamb and the salmon.
My husband’s lamb was chewy and fatty and came with overcooked vegetables. My salmon was nothing to write home about either. The sauce that it came with seemed like it contained high sodium and did not sit well with my stomach for the rest of the evening. The best thing was the bread that you get on the side and my husband enjoyed his wine. Overall I have to say that the quality of the cooking was subpar and despite all the many other much appreciated positives we left with a feeling of...
